yeah im after a front bumper that really shows off my frount mount, but i guess with the amount of money im willing to spend on a kit i could always customise other subaru bumpers . . hey would your fibre glassing mate been keen if i was to put in a type m kit to make a mould and produce some copies?

Iv been emailing a sales guy in Japan and he has confirmed stock of the STi bumper, im after something a bit different other than C-west and the Liberal, end up looking like everyone else, well at least id get mine painted oh and they aint c-west style body kits they just fibre glass copies of original subaru bumpers. the 00-01 is the same kit mine has, well was untill i crashed the front and they couldnt get an original of mine in. Iv seen a c-west kit of a forester and it looks ridiculously stupid. A big ol snow plow

those liberal and c-west kits on TM are cheap fibre glass replicas, a place in Wanganui was producing them. They buy the original kit in then make copies off it. Iv seen them selling the originals for about $1800

well in my effort to source a STi II Type M version front and rear bumpers iv come across two options. Option 1 http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=10&middlesmall=2:11&maker=&volkey=&page=1 is genuine body kits from Japan, as you can see there are a few options, STI, Subaru, Liberal, Zerosports and a few others. The beauty of these kits is that they are 100% original and will easily bolt straight on and are not made of fibre glass. The Subaru and STi ones also come pre painted in a factory colour but the only prob is its $1500NZ per bumper + about $1000NZ freight fron Japan Option 2 is a guy iv been talking to through a forester forum in OZ http://www.gtrydaz.com/home and this guy has been making fibre glass versions of the Type M kit. The cost here is about $650AUS per bumper and about $1000AUS again for freight. Freight is the killer. And since im in no hurry to get a kit in i was wondering if there is anyone else out there who wants something either off the Japan site or even a Type M kit from OZ and maybe we can work something out to reduce the freight costs. I want something a lil different out of my foz and the type M kit looks the part, beats those hideous Liberal and C-West kits floating around TM - the amount iv seen unpainted is ridiculous. Could also be keen to hook up with this guy in OZ and maybe get in a few kits to sell on TM or clubsub. oh and id also be keen on selling my STi body kit when i do replace it. Front and Rear bumpers only.

yeah after reading up on the turbos i think im gonna head the VF28 way

i got in contact with sub auto spares and they dont have any VF22 in stock. They say they retail for $650 -20% for clubsub members + gst. So instead of looking for a VF22 specifically i tried to do a bit of research to see what other VF turbo would be suitable for what im after and came across this peice of info which is good as it gives you a rough idea of each of the turbo's characteristics. Can someone also please tell me if the VF turbo is a direct bolt on bolt out replacement for the TD04? just a straight swap or any sort of modifications at all? http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/docs/turbo-data.pdf

anyone brought a VF22 off sub-a-roo spares? what can i expect to pay + the quality of the 2nd hand turbo? cheers

my 01 has the yellows, gotta source a decent VF turbo then take it to the guys at WRC development to tune it using ecu-tek on the standard ECU. The can set the boost in the ecu so no need for a controller. should be putting some decent power out then

yeah just got back from WRC developments, the guys plugged their laptop in and yip i have a V5/6 setup. has anyone upgraded their AFM/ECU and injectors with V5/6 stuff? wanna know if i do the same upgrade that id get some some of power gains. sub-a-roo can do a V6 ECU for $200 + gst, AFM for $150 + gst and injectors for $200 + gst. includes clubsub discount

yeah new core half the height but twice the thickness, the pics are very deceiving but if ya get down on ya hands and knees and poke ya head in you will see whose daddy

whats the point of a legacy? the last pic is of my old front mount. have a new hdi kit installed now. bumpers been customised to let air flow in and up through the core which is half the height of the bottom pic

Does anyone know which version sti ECU/AFM and injectors i can run in my forester? Had a chat to sub-a-roo spares to see if the V7 sti ECU/AFM and pink injectors would work but they havent done that conversion before only on earlier models with the v4/5 stuff. Might go check out WRC developments as the work on the same street as me and see if they have an idea. They are the ones offering ECU-TEK remaps on TM at the moment

yeah mate got it for $1k going directly to them. Only 5 were brought into the country i think. Iv got 1, 2 are still for offer on TM and i know they put one on a white foz when they arrived in the country. Absolutly mint bonnet well worth the $1000 and a lil bit extra to get it pro installed and fitting nicely
