Compressor surge. New intake probably made it more noticeable.

Someone 's trying to convince me, that all EJ208 B4/GTB's came with a varex type mufflers as a standard - is it correct? (apparently, that's according to factory service manuals)
Yep, the standard muffler has a butterfly valve sort of thing.
Take a look inside the flap on the passenger side in the trunk.

Yep, that's the one. Is it just a factory pipe with the reso/cat removed? I don't think my factory one is 3 inch.
Here's what my car sounds like now
How would sound in comparison to that? More raspy?
Thanks for your help and I apologise for the barrage of questions!

Do bh5 and be5 have the same length mid pipe?
Or could someone with a be5 exhaust handy measure the length from the dump pipe collected flange to the rear muffler flange in a straight line.

Did we get any Saab 92X in NZ?

There\'s 76mm - 80mm and 80mm - 86mm.
I missed out on that auction on trademe. Didn\'t realised it ended in the morning.
I shouldn\'t need the joiners if this is the right hose it should fit in fine.

Is this what you use to replace the corrugated intake pipe?

Picked this up yesterday and gave it a quick polish today

If I change my fuel pump to an 255lph, can I still drive around as usual or would the engine run terribly rich?

I was in an identical situation last year and chose to part it out. After getting sick of it taking up the entire garage I sold it for peanuts with most of the stuff still on it.
Unless your willing to sell parts for dirt cheap expect it to take a while.

Has anyone had good results from using intake manifold spacers?

I\'ve got some, details in my Garage thread. Bypass your TB Coolant lines at the same time. There are new spacers out now for half the price, made of a new material?

You\'re write ups are awesome.
Since I\'ll have the manifold off I might as well throw some of these in and do a coolant by pass.
Do you have a link to the new ones?

I\'ve got that one. Have the matching 3 ton aluminium stands as well. I think I paid around 270 for both a few years ago.
Can\'t really fault the jack it\'s small, lightweight and works well. I still need to drive my car onto blocks to lift the front of it though. The jack has trouble clearing the lip because it doesn\'t have that much reach.

How much does a 5 speed gearbox weigh? DCCD and no oil.
35-40kg?

I\'m certain that\'s an mx-5. Check the number plate through www.carjam.co.nz

Does replacing the throttle body to intercooler hose make a difference?
