  1. A mate of mine had her car stolen Wednesday (8 May 2013) night from her driveway on Summerhill Drive in Palmerston North. It\'s a 1977 Datsun 120Y and the rego is (or probably was) IM7879. If you see or know or suspect anything leave a comment. Happy hunting :-\
  2. I think there might be some sort of general op going on in Palmy atm... My friend just had her Datsun stolen from her driveway the other night. I\'ll make a thread here so that way if we can trace one car back to them and hopefully sting the lot.
  3. Took my intake silencer out to see the difference it makes and :o DOZE SOUNDS. Needless to say, this is what my RH fender looks like no:. Modified the stock piece, making an elbow, it\'s up in there somewhere - promise! Now just having to weigh up what I want to do next (with a budget that of course doesn\'t allow half of these): AMR red aluminium inlet hose Post MAF hose Kartboy short shifter and bushings combo Super Pro steering rack bushings Goodridge SS brake lines Time to start selling things.. (kidneys etc)
  4. Intake Silencer Delete (02-07 WRX/STI - not sure about other models) The intake silencer sits on the right hand side, in the fender area. There are 3 bolts holding the intake silencer on. One can be accessed via the engine bay, the other two sit behind the front bumper - one down low, one up high near the engine bay bolt. You can access this through the fender well if you detach the plastic guard. Taking off front bumper makes the removal easiest. Unbolt, remove. Some people leave it as-is (gaping hole), others saw off the silencer and block off the hole to fashion their own elbow, you can also apparently buy an aftermarket elbow so you can keep the OEM piece intact. Gains? None. Arguably a tiny gain when combined with drop-in panel filter (e.g. K&N). Most seem to do it for the increased turbo noise it provides. Plus.. weight reduction?
  5. :o :( Life lessons man... sucks.. Hopefully the cops will pin some cronies for you and you\'ll be able to seek redress through the Courts
  6. it upsets me to think of people doing this to my car, and especially to such a beautiful car as yours!
  7. Nice man. Where\'d you get that silencer delete from?
  8. I almost feel guilty when I toot idiots ;D PS. Was gutted today to find out that the JDM STI key I imported isn\'t able to be used because of built in immobiliser... It\'s so pretty though! :-[ IMG]http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv241/SimonSiknasty/IMG_0807-1_zps19124013.jpg[/img]
  9. Went from this: to this: (Hella Supertones) And then added this: (DEFI boost gauge)
  10. thanks for quick responses all, now to figure out how to reposition everything ;D
  11. just got my hella supertones in the mail and in the process of installing them and i come across this: anyone able to tell me what this is and whether/how i can move this a bit to fit in the horn? cheers!
  12. going to get one of these three What did you end up getting?
  13. Not sure if anyone has posted this but it is truly hilarious
  14. That\'s my thinking! And sell the single scroll downpipe as soon as it arrives.. Those AdrenalinR mufflers (some of them) look very nice indeed. I really like the rolled tip design. Does buying one of those mean I have to saw off the 4" canon from the axle back and weld it up? Good thing dad is a blacksmith... [quote name='funkytown said: depends if the DPs finish in the same place right. taking a chance. As long as the main shape of the cat-back is a fit for my STI, getting the downpipe to match up shouldn\'t be too much of an issue (touch wood)
  15. Yeah, they do look like a right pain to install.......... My current head-sore is trying to figure out: 1. Whether a WRX cat-back will fit on STI of the same gen, and; 2. Whether I can deal with the noise / potential ghetto-factor of a 4" exhaust tip
  16. Looking into this, trying to find a decent price/quality black one - those blue/red hoses look like they\'d stick out like dog\'s balls Looks like a bitch of an install though (tehehehe punny)
  17. Ahh cheers Do you think the midpipe/muffler would fit still? Meaning I could just get a new downpipe and bolt that on to the kit? Because it\'s certainly a cheaper option to do it that way..
  18. http://www.subaruspeed.co.nz/products/exhaust-system-impreza-01-06-sedan Bingo! .... Although I don\'t know whether the turbo on my car is twin- or single-scroll ???
  19. Anyone know good exhaust vendors in Auckland and/or how much it would cost to get one made?
  20. Oh dear.. Finally got my internet uncapped and was able to look up videos of STI owners using aftermarket downpipes on the factory exhaust system... Dont know what you guys think, but they seems pretty raspy (nasty) to me :-\ So now to go about finding a decent turbo-back exhaust arrangement that I won\'t need to sell my kidneys in order to fund . . .
  21. That\'s all the encouragement I need to save $400
  22. Oooooooh... http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Injen-Cold-Air-Intake-Wrinkle-Red-Subaru-WRX-2006-2007-STI-2004-2007
  23. Like one of these? ;D http://www.rallysportdirect.com/GrimmSpeed-Boost-Solenoid-Subaru-WRX-STI-2002-2007 Also, this whole "under manifold intake" is all news to me, where to I find some sort of guide for this etc? ???
