Hi guys,
Just a quick question. I noticed a slight plastically small coming from my engine and the cable coming out of the coolant seems to have a white powder on it:

I should refill the coolant because it is getting low, although not empty. The temperature gauge is only marginally above what I recall it being before.
Any ideas of the cause? Maybe I just let the coolant get too low.

I have found the answer guys http://radio-waves.co.nz/?page_id=15&category=8 email them and they say they have an Iphone kit which integrates with the Subaru Macintosh stereo but its not cheap at $161 plus $60 for installation. I'll let you know how well it works if I decide on getting this
cheers
Just wondering whether you ended up having this installed?

I agree, why bother? Other than not having iPod compatibility, you couldn't really complain about the McIntosh head unit.
For those reading this thread at a later date, avgeek's method can be found here. Just wondering, do all the McIntosh headunits have the same port connecter, even those without a CD changer installed? I just noticed that the image in that thread has a circle connector, but the Radio Waves connector seems to be square:

I want to get someone to install it for me, so I don't really want to have to have it pulled out twice to check. My McIntosh unit is the one with the MiniDisk and CD player built-in.

Interesting, there seems to be lots of options but before I bought mine I remember being told that if I wanted to add iPod integration to avoid McIntosh. That's good though because it makes it easier.
I'm interested to see your diagram, although I think I'll most likely go for this: http://radio-waves.co.nz/?page_id=15&category=1&product_id=53

Hi guys,
Some of you might remember that I was looking at buying a Legacy RS30 late last year, thanks again for all your help back then - it definitely made buying my first car a lot easier. I'm looking adding iPhone compatibility to the McIntosh headunit with an FM modulator, or more specifically the iSimple TranzIt (IS77). I emailed them about compatibility and this was the response I got:
Thank you for the inquiry. Unfortunately I do not have any information for your radio. The Tranzit plugs into the antenna input on your radio, so if your radio can be replaced with an aftermarket without needing an antenna adapter, then you will not need any. Here is a link to all of our international dealers: http://peripheralelectronics.com/dealer_locator_international.aspSo my question for you all is this: Would an adapter be needed?
I'm also looking into the Radio Waves "Subaru Legacy / Suzuki Swift iPod adaptor" which I came across in another post on this forum. Does anyone have one of these installed?
Thanks.

Great thanks, will take a look at that but needs to be serviced soon anyway so might just bring that forward to be safe.
