Could potentially be floating discs, speaking from a motorcycle background they're flexible in their mounting so they're less likely to warp. Seems a good price to me!
-
They sit a bit higher, if you're a taller person you may find that your head touches the roof. Seatbelts mount differently but they're nice seats, a bit deeper than GC8 buckets too. They didn't fit well in my BF5 so I imagine a GC8 would be similar, they're great in my BG however. No harm in trying

I just go down to the local fastener shop and get a big stubby bolt and a hose clamp

It's not slipping although it's due to be replaced soon. I'm going to try swapping the oxy sensor with an old one and report back.

Hi all, have a problem with my '96 GTB standard aside from zerosports intake pipe and muffler. Other day it started lurching and hesitating on the motorway, if I opened the throttle it stopped doing it, when I backed off it started lurching again and the idle was hunting. I reset the ECU to see if that would help, it doesn't do it all the time but it does feel like throttle response is lacking, kinda like towing a trailer and the first few times it happened there was this weird smell kinda like a cross between cooked electronics and burnt brake pads coming from the drivers side of the engine. Not throwing any check engine lights.
Any ideas??

Man, I love all you can eat deals. Didn't know about this one
-
Also looks like an EBC, new BOV and those restrictor pill mods are now on my list
-
Yes my mistake, vf26 and 27. So hose 1 mod is worth looking into definitely? Found this too http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=940612721
How would those tmic to turbo pipes still be utilised with a t/t fmic kit? Genuine question. The standards look ludicrously small but surely they must have done that for a reason?
-
I just bought a vf27 and 28 for less than Strong's wanted for a vf18, score. I have most of the stuff lying around to do a single conversion: v4 sti engine, exhaust, gbox xmember, fmic, but this is my daily and can't afford to have it off the road! I understand next step is fmic and decat for these. What difference would the new turbos make over the old ones, assuming no other changes?
-
You're right about that one, its just an ecv valve. Any way to tell what sort of turbos they are without pulling them off? And is the primary on the driver's or passenger's side? Cheers for the help so far people

Looked like both did, was running yellow injectors but the rocker covers had ribs on them. I'm unsure of the history of the thing, will check back tomorrow
-
Hi all, I very recently acquired a 1996 GTB. A few questions - what are the best twin turbos to have on these? The primary is whining away and not holding boost properly, wondering what sort of turbo
it is likely to have (VFxx) and if it's worth upgrading them with another model - both turbos have wastegates. I know plenty about BC/BF shape but my knowledge is extremely limited on these. Also wondering, I have a set of Cusco adjusties for a BF5, will they go on, and does the standard ABS/ master cylinder mind 4 piston brakes? Thanks!
-
If anyone would be so kind as to help me out doing these tomorrow, shouldn't take too long and I'll provide beer. Got a GTB leaking oil onto exhausts and smoking
-
ABC is real good. I'd just get a new caliper from a wrecker's, rebuilding brakes is pretty simple too.
-
I got a Fenix one, great quality. Would reccomend.
-
I'll buy it off ya
-
Dunno but the axles and diffs are different, wouldn\'t be surprised if it didn\'t match up
-
Stick a V2 STi motor in a BC5, they bolt and wire straight in.. or for a little more work v4 STi engine, g/box + brakes in BC

If you don\'t even know how to gap plugs you shouldn\'t be fucking with cars

BF5 GT blew big end at 320k. Re engined and still going. Seen a courier Transit with over a million on the clock.
-
My BF5 (wagon BC5 equiv.) is still going strong with a 325,000km shell (blew bigend at 318,000km), replacement motor on 240, no funny noises or anything. Owes me $1300.
