No deals on RE003's at the moment I see. They are called Firestone Indy 500 in the US and are rating really well:

I reckon go for the low mileage one for $14.5k if it is immaculate as you say.
If you are keeping it for 3-5 years then your depreciation will be fine and resale will be better if you keep in good nick. Not many people are keen on purchasing a 3rd hand 200km Legacy.
If you were to only hold on to it for a year then you may get a bigger hit.

My cousin in law (heh) picked up an 06 facelift, manual for $10k a few months back. About 100km on the clock.
Dealer maybe a few grand more.
I sold my 3.0R spec b manual with 140 on the clock, mags, HKS intake and exhaust, adjustables for $14k like 3 or 4 years ago now.

Camber looks fine. Front toe was a bit out.

Warning about the Audi S4. They designed the engine with the chain at the back, because the chain will never fail right? Wrong. The chains in these fail often, and you can open your cheque book for a $10k bill. Would stay away from the B6 S4.
If you were in Auckland you could have come and checked out my Blitzen.

They require LVV certification to be legal.
Cheaper/smarter to get different offset wheels.

Yep, thats a lot of man hours to do.
You could dump in a huge amount of cash to pay a bunch of different people to do it, or you could just go buy an RS4 or something. MCM can get away with it because of either free/discount labor/parts or funding it through the business.

It isn't a perfect car by any stretch of the imagination but it is clean and tidy and "goz hard 4 wot it iz".
I haven't had any major mechanical issues with it and I have had it for about 3 years. Cambelt, waterpump and that associated stuff is all done.
They seem to just keep going...

You can have my modified 2002 Blitzen manual for $4k. Has 210km on the clock but goes about as well as a TT ever will.
Downpipes, FMIC, Prova suspension, whiteline swaybars, rays wheels, front and rear upper and lower braces, ECU tune and putting out about 200kwkw. Basically fully loaded.
I really need to get around to washing it and putting up a for sale heh.

Have Nitto NeoGens on my Legacy, long life but grip isn't that good, I think the compound is too hard for NZ. Will not be buying again. Probably go with RE003s to replace.
Dunlop somethings on the 130i, decent tyre and has lasted a long time also. Would consider again, but suspect RE003s will be cheaper.
E55 has Falken Ziex 914s. Also OK and cope surprisingly well with putting 500hp to the ground. But will probably replace with REE03s or Hankook S1 Evos.

TT has no mid/low torque at all compared to a 3.6r or a 2.5T. The 2.5T is faster, the 3.6R smoother.
TT is all about top end.

I would lean towards the HDI kits.
The best would be custom made fitmet of a generic core, but you could expect to pay 3-4x the kit price.
FMIC provides the consistency in temperatures that the top mount can't in daily driving. At speed on a track I think the results would be much closer.

As per Rosssub. Check the AVCS solenoids for filter debris, it's super common for the filters to disintegrate and get stuck in the solenoids thus jamming the timing on that side and making it run like crap at a certain RPM. It's stupidly ironic that the one job the filter has, is to stop **** getting in the solenoid.
10 minute job.

9.5 wide rims are really too big for a BL/BP.
Fitting a 235/40 would possibly work with a 45-50 offset, but that could give you grief on the inside.
225/40 works on a 45 offset wheel. 40 offset may need rolling of the guards.

I think the 215/45/18 is an odd size. I got quoted under $300 each for both 245/45/18 and 265/40/18 during the last special.
Good to know though, will check out my local Tony's once my Nitto Neogens and Falken 914s wear out. Can't wait to get some decent rubber.

My cousin is paying $1019 for 4x 18 RE003 for his 3.0R today from Bridgestone, including an alignment though.
Sounds like Tonys is the good deal.

So looks like Levorg isn't too far away now.
Sadly it looks like a bit of a missed opportunity for Subaru NZ, not sure what/who the delay can be associated to. The car is already a year old and you can buy them as an import already for 10k less than the RRP with demo mileage.
The car is starting to feel a little old already...
I reckon the 5th gen legacy wagon with some styling mods is the keen plan now.

Oil leaks, worn out suspension bushes, noisy turbo. The usual really.
Also look out for a worn interior (steering wheel and seats), once they're worn out they really look ****.

Wasn't me with the def file. I could never get it to work. I know Marky got his working somehow though.
Raijin performance (I think he has stopped tuning now) did mine in the end. Took him 5 mins to get connected and running.
