Hi there im looking at getting a wagon and i have found a nice low ks 1997 wrx wagon. Engine has just been done up and producing 240kw. I am just wanting to know the difference in running gear from the sti and wrx. Are the diffs the same?? R160 viscouse?? i know the brakes will be different but i already have some nice 4 pots i would put on it. Im looking at swapping it for my ra plus $500 and a td06 turbo. (my ra http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=929151020) Note his has only done 120xxxks on the body and fresh rebuild forged link etc. Was wondering if its worth it myself but mine does need ALOT of body work as you can see in the pics. Any help would be great cheers

What will it take to fit a v7 sti gbox in a wrx ra?? Do i need a r180 diff or will the r160 be fine??

Really dont want to stay with what i have. Its butt ugly. Was hoping to go around the spot lights some how instead of chopping them off. Will have to weigh up my decisions i guess

Never had a fmic on my v8. Never needed it. Was thinking about putting a v7 sti top mount on. Big hassle though and then i would have to get a bigger scoop painted and put on or else it would be a waste of time. At this point i am weighing the options.

Not at all boon. I did not see the car properly till after i made this thread. It took a while for him to send the actual pictures through and after whatshouliget said it still had problems that was an even bigger no haha

It actually doesnt have that much mods other then exhaust and front mount. Thats about it haha

Thanks it does! He started to show me how ruff it was as well and its pretty bad aye. I do have all new panels for it but it will be alot of money getting it right again.

Im looking at swapping it for my 2000 wrx ra just seeing if anyone knows more info about it. Ive talked to the owner but i dont live in aucks so just cant go and see it. He has been trying to sell it for a bit now...

New question... Can you use gc8 sti springs in v7 sti struts with gc8 top hats. I know it should fit but would it wreck the damper as it would have different spring rates??

If you didnt figure it. I kind of had the same problem. Its was one of my resonators. Was to low and scraped it on something so it split inside and was just rattling. Never found out what it was till i pulled my exhaust fully off.

Can anyone tell me how long they are tip to tip please. Like the one in the pic. Thanks
