1996 V2 STI RA V-LTD. First Subaru was a 1990 GT sedan.

v2 sti ra v-ltd: colour chosen by Colin McRae, aggresive look without being OTT, DCCD, mechanical LSD, air con for hot days.

Clutch slip.

I did my clutch last year and had a similar problem. If everything is lined up, it may just be the dowels refusing to go back in. If you can get nuts on threads in diagonally opposing positions, you should be able to carefully and gradually tighten them up. Everything I read said not to do it that way, but it was the only way I could get it to go on.
