if the back has any fold on the body of the car bro it will be a write off, check inside the spare wheel arch to see of any signs of folds on the body will be a good identication..if you de-reg the car and you take the car back wouldnt the insurance company hold back some money to give you the written off car back? You are looking at least 800bux to get it re-registered and if it requires any welding work than you need to get that checked along the way as well plus the normal repair costs on top, you would be looking at least 2k to get it back on the road thats if nothing else is majorly wrong with the body, as reregistration guys are alot stricter...

I was under the impression if the turbo was poked that you would see some signs of smoke out the back to show signs of worn turbo and also no boost?

Yeah there are couple of companies that do it in akld, i know a mechanic in Panmure who sends the digital dashboards away to get it done, think it was either $180 or $250 for it

whats the mileage on the car? best thing is to check the compression on the motor for piece of mind, has the car got a boost controller in it? and if it was tuned or not, check for any engine knock and any obvious dash lights, if he has a boost gauge check for spikes as well,

I had done a single conversion on my B4 but did a complete engine swap, the car was awesome to drive with single turbo.

cheers man, Nah fits ok from box, the downpipe mount is way to long and needs modifying, or just chop it off. Nah i got sick of it sitting low so cut it in a few spots and moved it around and added washers on the hangers so it didnt slide right through (the middle piece slides through the rubber mount and will knock on the under panel), and the hangers on the muffler arent long enough. Nah good loud as is from box. I thought it would be mint to cut the resonator out... bad idea, really loud. Makes good flames though haha.

i have the same exhaust... cheap... average fit etc. i have modified mine a lot since to make it fit a bit better. My car made decent power with that + extras so does the job

What do you mean though "modified mine a lot" like to get it to originally fit the car or just to modify it to gain better performance out of it, i read in your thread you put a external wastegate in if thats what you mean by the modifying...
Oh and is it quite loud as it is or bearable?

Saw this on Trademe and wondering if this would be worth installing into my Subi and if i would gain any benefit out of it?
I am still running the standard exhaust setup with a straight pipe in the middle though now...only mods i have is a K&N intake and bov.

Do you do servicing as well? the little beast is due for a service oil and filter change i guess and have some brake pads that need to be done as well, easy to do myself but just don't have the time to do it..and how much would i be looking at for that? cheers

that thing has brembo brakes, why would anyone do that to a wrx upgrade the brakes only? i would say around 16k if everything is tidy as per the pics

I have BC Golds in mine, they can go really low if you want them too! pretty solid ride though but i have mine set to hard rather than soft as i have wide rims on my car....and definitely buy brand new especially when coming to get a cert for the car to make it legal.

yeah i am running 6" in my subbie but had to run a spacer in the front to fit the speakers in, quite easy i think you can buy ready made ones as well if you cant be bothered trying to make one...

The early Jdm v11s leaned out towards redline, subaru Japan offered a reflash fix which sorted that particular issue.
Funnily enough, the early v11s, Jdm again, had a bad batch of rings resulting in premature engine failure. I had one. Expensive it was. Very.
I wouldbt buy one pre 2010, which is when they released the sedan shape as well as the hatch.
I knew i had read that some where here that had issue with the V11, did they still make the hatch after 2010 though?

I have read on the forums here about them having issues with the engine i think the both the 2.0 and the 2.5 ones to do with carbon build up...cant find the article but just do your research bout that...

bugger man! that sounds like it will be a costly repair if you have no compression... just take it to a mechanic and get them to go over what could be the issue, what part of the country are you in and we could recommend a few places you could go to get a quote or even some advice

ah cool thanks guys! yeah boon its the one up on the driver's side that's faulty and hence the crazy labour charges they quoted me to get it out...cheers for the feedback !
