It sounds like housings may swap over due to both being ball bearing turbos
Would i gain anything over a stock vf28 by putting the vf22 compressor housing onto the vf28?
Can anyone help?

Hi there,
Has anyone had any experience with changing turbo housings in vf turbos.
I have a vf22 thats has too much end play. And i wondered if i would achieve anything by putting the vf22 p20 exhaust housing onto one of my good condition vf28s?
Is it possible?
Also would the compressor housing be interchangable as well? Or would that require wheel change?

Maybe they change them on regular basis. who knows.
Could be a possibility.
Either way its the nicest rally car in the country

I dont have time to go to court over it. I would just like my money back and send the turbo back to him. Will try contact him through facebook
He obviously knew it was dodgy given he hasnt responded to any emails. But clearly advertised it as mint and had no play.
Just pretty annoyed overall.

My info... they have tried many aftermarket headers... all failed... then they went to stock twin scroll headers. Success.
Saw the car last week and it had stainless ones on so i guess they no longer run stock headers.

This car uses stock equal length headers at 800hp... the only headers that they could find that wouldn't crack.

Just fyi this car doesn't run stock headers. They are aftermarket stainless headers, I've seen them.

Hi there,
Has anyone from the south island sold a VF22 on trademe in the last few weeks?
I have been trying to make contact with the seller, because i bought it and it was advertised as being in mint condition and with no play. However it is FAR from mint, there are oil lines missing, studs are broken and one is missing, and it has a LOT of end play in the shaft. I have taken it to subaru specialists and it is too far gone to be any good. I know they are an old turbo but it has about considerably more play than my vf28 that has done 150,000kms.
Basically it is not useable and i have been tryin to email the seller for he last 2-3 weeks to resolve this and i am getting no response.
Wondered if there is a possibility someone here might no someone who has sold a vf22 in recent weeks.
Be glad of your help
Cheers

Hey guys,
Looking to put some roof racks on my 2005 sti forester. What roof racks have you guys used? And how do they fit?
I had some lying around from another car but they are not compatible with the forester rails.
Glad of your help.
Cheers

so i ended up purchasing a set of these NZKW headers (for better or for worse) but they look good anyway.
what is everyones experience with wrapping them? or would i be better to hpc coat them? or are the best left as they are and make up some heat sheilds to protect engine components around them?

Have to sat v10 is a nice looking car. I just like the gc8 for the fact its old skool raw power. No fluff and bubbles.
Went in a couple of v11's they have very smooth power delivery. But go well. Also went in a v11, R205 which was smooth but very quick. Very very nice car and also 6 pot brakes were amazing

I've never driven one and know they have quite a bot of weight over a gc8, but pretty sure they can be made to haul ass with a decent tune.
Edited my post as i realised i was a bit quick to respond without reading further that the car was in limp mode.
However i do feel v7's lack a bit of punch in stock form from what im used to. Long live gc8's

Ive fitted v7 intercoolers to both a forester and a gc8
biggest thing is needing to move the bov on the intercooler as it hits the IACV on the manifold.
then there's the clutch reservoir that needs to be moved, bent or cut depending if its a remote reservoir or not
the mounting brackets are easy to extend.
How did you move the bov? Where did you out it.
I think i have brackets sorted now.
-
Yep brackets are quite different. And also the silicone elbow on the piping needs to be a bit longer. Due to the v5 manifold design having the throttle body further towards the firewall
-
Hi,
Has anyone here fitted a v7 sti intercooler into a gc8? If so what did you do for the intercooler brackets?
How did you get on putting it into the car?
I have v7 clutch master and all that stuff.
Otherwise, does anyone have a 99-00 gc8 process west tmic they want to sell?
Cheers

They are a complete overkill for what im doing, but just got the gimmies a bit.
I was going to use factory side feed rails and flare them do a split rail set up with the yellows. But was recommended by engine builder to do it properly and use proper fittings. Which led me to aftermarket fuel rails. Which most side feed ones look cheap and nasty. And then i saw these😀. So using them with some sti pinks i have laying around.
Didnt get dampers. Just running aftermarket fuel reg.

What injectors can you put in them? Are all top feed injectors the same fitment?
They fit factory sti pink injectors and also have different sizes spacers for bigger aftermarket ones. As some aftermarket injectors are taller. There is a long list of injectors that fit. Looks like a nice kit. Looking forward to it arriving.

Interchanging turbo housings

This is exactly what i am wanting to confirm. They do look a different design.
If they dont fit properly there is no point in doing it and having some half arsed mismatched thing.
