Jap cars like subbies and mitsi's in aussie are generally more expensive than here as they have less imports, so they are not as popular.just like falcons and commodores are a bit cheaper over there than here, as they are/were made in aussie.

Ferodo TS2000's are good pads, they aren't too dusty like the bendix and some say they work better. and fair price. i run them in the RA. haven't had them on the track but they are awesome on the road.

My brothers V6 STI ra was 170.4kw atw stock standard. with close ratio box the power comes on faster and before you know it you are into the next gear hitting that peak power again. therefore feels faster and probably is faster. Also is way lighter so the power to weight ratio is better which helps. thumbs up to those who support GC8's!!! I LUV em.

Whats the power difference?
as far as i know the hp/kw is still the same but with the close ratio box and light weight body, you hit boost faster and the power comes on a lot harsher than the V7 onwards. in the V7 onwards the power is much smoother doesn't chuck you in the seat as much. they probably have more torque but i still believe from factory the V11 sti is no faster than the V6. that's IMO.

keep your price up. they are rare and if it is MINT! it will be worth some good money to the right guy. ask 12k for it. and IMO the type r's and RA's in the GC8 are the only models that have that real harsh, kick in the arse power from factory.

GCP is setting his dyno up again to do a bit of tuning here and there. but it isn't up and going yet. not too sure when it will be but should be sometime soon.

could have run a bearing, they make weird noises sometimes but not sure if it doesn't make noise under acceleration.

i was going to put the ra on the track but have other responsibilities to attend to, and would like to get some semi slicks and a baffled sump before i put it on the track, which means i need to do a bit of saving. will come down for a short look though as i live just up the road.

Yeh i got a 2.5inch pipe from the turbo back, with remus rear muffler. everything else is stock. i guess a bit of a tune with a link computer and new fuel pump would be the best bang for buck then.

what is the best mods to do to get the most horsepower for money out of a V5 STI RA??
i have been thinking baffled sump for the track etc. and Link computer with a tune. anyone else have some pointers?

there is also an R205 on TM at the moment. It is more or less the equivalent but a V11. Have driven this car, and it is the best STI i have ever been in. massive 6 pot brembo's on the front and 4 pots in the rear so stopping power is insane! has a pretty serious suspension set up from factory so nice and tight and sits flat on the road without being too hard. The power response is awesome too, just keeps pulling. the type of car that you don't need to do any mods too. Pretty much the ultimate STI.
