Hi Guys.
Very sorry for using my first post to ask a question, i know its probably a bit wrong, but i promise i will introduce myself better after i have posted this!!
I am working on my brothers car (As mentioned in the title) as he is having intermittant low boost problems. Im a mechanic so im not a complete tool when it comes to working on cars, but i spend most of my time working on fords, not subarus, although i do know the odd thing about them having owned a 98 STi RA previously. (The v-limited Colin Mcrae edition, really wish i never sold it!!)
I have checked to see if his car has the boost restrictor pill, there is no pill in the line from the compressor housing to the tee-peice as i thought there was supposed to be, i believe from a search on here and a good old google that there is supposed to be a 0.9mm restrictor pill in this model. However, the fitting on the tee peice seems to have a restrictor in it as per this photo: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=934FDC285B7B0006!992&authkey=!AF-8pNyOnBT9o2E&v=3
Is this in place of the restrictor pill? Alot of tee peices (aftermarket/factory) also have these brass fittings in them, but generally do not taper down to such a narrow diameter. I thought that you should find the restrictor pill in the line that connects onto this arm of the tee?
Again, sorry for using my first post to ask a question, but hopefully somebody can confirm whether or not a 2003 v8 STI wrx is supposed to have the pill in it or if this tee takes the place of the restrictor.
Cheers heaps,
Sam
