  1. OK just tried the Knock sensor relocation, reset ECU and same deal.... boosted to 15 then hestitated and back to 10 again :'( I am now thinking AFM mismatch??
  2. this is the link, the one fix that made my old STI run like a absolute dream, will do the same on my BH tonight http://www.imprezasport.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=785&st=0
  3. heres a link with the knock sensor relocation sugestion, there are others i will find em and post http://www.justanswer.com/questions/25vzm-impreza-turbo-knock-sensor
  4. Good point, i have read about knock sensor relocation, very comon on the UK forums, also i have a V4 STI knock sensor i cud try that too EDIT: i did relocate the knock sensor as per the UK forms (i forget the link now) on my V4 STI and it fixed a lot of problems, they can be hyper sensitive and the location they tell you to put it on is not that far away that its not going to pick ups knocks, just away from the area where vibrations are aplenty EDIT - for my ref really: Disconnect the battery negative cable, Remove the intercooler and the knock sensor is located top -back of engine block, Disconnect the knock sensor connector, Remove the knock sensor from the engine block.Install the new knock sensor to the engine block. Tightening torque: NOTE:The extraction area of the knock sensor cord must be positioned at a 60" angle relative to the engine rear. 24 N.m (2.4 kgf-m, 17.4 ft-lb) Connect the knock sensor connector,Install the intercooler,Connect the battery negative cable.
  5. Yea? what did you do for the problem to come about? is it a V5/6?
  6. The rude thing is that Reuben put a STI ECU V6 into big Daves Foz and that did the same thing, no wiring changes no nothing just straight in, he had no mods either! wudnt boost past 10 PSI WWWTTTFFFF! :-\
  7. yea, i am going to have to i think, i know Reuben went through them with a find tooth comb too when he did chris's BH TT to singel T conversion
  8. right, reset ECU with Map all plumbed etc, stopped and unplumbed the MAP, on the drive after the reset the first 2 boosts were standard 10 PSI then it boosted to 15 and cut out/hestiated and back to 10 PSI we go. Sumfink is telling teh ECU to go into limp boost mode! i did find a differential boost sensor on the firwall left over from the TT setup, it was still plugged in. I unplugged that and reset teh ECU again and tried again, no go. I checked on line and that sensor is mainly for the exhaust solonoid etc on teh TT's, the STI ECU wont even care about that noid anyways. ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
  9. Yip will do Heres the procedure http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/ECUReset dunno if that accelerator thing is necessary aye, wil do it anywho!
  10. Yip OK, will try in do that at lunch. Now to reset the V5/6 ECU its both plugs plugged in under dash, but do you have to do the whole throttle full down, then back to half for 3 secs then go for the drive over 11KM but under 40KM?
  11. OK, fitted Caspros ECU, did it all properly i.e used static precautions and disconnected the battery first. Went for a drive, car was cold so took it easy, when the car was half warm i boosted a bit just to see, and it looked good boosting past 12. So i continued driving to warm the car up, once warm i started driving up a bit of hill and put my foot down it started boosting past 15 PSI, i thought "nice" but then it did a big hestitation and slipped back to 10 PSI and wouldnt go above 10 again! That was with the Map sensor plugged in, i jumped out and blocked the hose to the MAP and tried again, no go, just the same! There are no CELs. I am a wee bit stumped here!
  12. awsome, spend upwards of $1000 bucks for an alarm just for that to happen! WTF! I wired up a hidden kill switch in my BH wagon, kills the fuel pump + its alarmed Good luck to you guys getting it back!!
  13. Bugger! nice lookin rex, do you know how they got in and/or how they did it? was it alarmed?
  14. Caspro has sent his ECU to me today, shud be here tomorrow, will post results
  15. Are there any kind folks out there in subaru land with a V5/6 STI keen to whip your ECU out and take a pic of the case numbers and the numbers/chips on the board? I would be very appreciative if someone could ;D Cheers Gary
  16. yea, i think you are thinking of earlier ECUs, i.e. my TT ECU is straight grey on the ECU but has colored plugs on the loom.
  17. Well my BH5 GT-B has blue, black and grey as per wiring diagram and what is physically on the car, i know the v5 STI wiring diagram states that the plugs are blue, grey and black also but as for the plugs on the car this ECU came off..... i do not know
  18. here are somd Pics of the ECU board, can anyone shed some light on the ECU please? i.e. STI or non STI, factory boost etce Much appreciated
  19. so chaps, can you tell me if the JDM and NZDM STI V5/6 models have factory boost rates at different PSI's?
  20. I took the guys word for it, he is a CS member and heaps of ppl vouched for him too. If its NZ will it only be 10-12 PSI? EDIT - it is a STI V5 board in a TT case
  21. Hey, So now that i knw it IS an STI ECU, it shud be boostin around 1 bar but its only 10-12 PSI, would the fact that i am running a 2 port wastegate noid when its meant to be a three port effect the boost pressure? Cheers
  22. hey, does anyone know if the V5/6 STIs use a 3 port or a two port wastegate solenoid? and does anyone have a 3 port for sale? CHeers
