I had this. The problem with the gc8 slave is that when its on the box the bleed screw is not the highest point. Remove the back bolt holding the slave and lift it forward when bleeding to get all of the air out. When I did that it fixed the problem

Still completely stuck. removed the two lower studs from the engine so now the only thing between the box and the motor is the shaft but it just won't let go. Completely at a loss as what to do now????
-
Can't see anything in there. Pushed the release bearing all the way to the clutch so fingers crossed this was the problem?

So you think its the release bearing that has slipped down the shaft and golding the box in the clutch?

Sure have!

Hey guys,
Trying to drop my box and have everything unbolted and off of it but it just won't come apart. There is a large gap all around the bell housing but it just won't slide off the input shaft. Anyone have any tips/tricks?
I have tried jacking it up/down, wiggling side to side, forcing it apart at the bell housing but it WILL NOT let go. Driving me completely nuts.
Any input would be much appreciated

In my v4 type r I leave it all the way open (dial all the way back). Over steer is fun!

Have purchased the d1 racing one so when I finally get my car back together I'll let everyone know how it gets on

Great to hear! There's no way I would give my car a harder time than a race car

I got mine from Exedy NZ Ltd - 151 Wairau Rd. Unsure what they can do for you but could be worth a call.
Really depends on the individual and what you want at the end of the day... what’s the reason your looking at Lightweight in the first place, what’s the car used for, do you commute every day in stop go traffic?
Personally i really liked what it did for my car, just brought it so much more alive imo along with a noticeable change in power delivery. In stop go traffic it does take the joy away rather quick however… although i still don’t mind but yea i can understand why one would hate it… if I had to commute everyday in stop go traffic I wouldn’t recommend it tbh.. also you will find yourself riding the clutch a little more so expect to add some wear to your clutch but once again that really depends on the individual
Only reason I have to change is there are hair line fractures all through my stock one! So need to change to something. Thought if I have to change then may as well go to a lightened jobby but I'm not keen on spending 500+ when I could be spending that in other more needed areas.
The car is just a toy so no commuting what so ever. Haven't even driven it this year

Will have a look there.
What about this one? or stay away from them?

I might just look to relocate the battery to the boot then mount my surge tank setup where the battery use to be. Should be plenty of room there to install it.
Whats the go with moving battery to boot, do you need to run 2 cables from the boot to the engine bay for both +/-, or can you simply earth the factory -ve battery connection onto the chasis and then connect a new -ve connection onto the chasis in boot?
Cheers
35mm Welding cable sent into the engine bay through the AC drain and then ground the negative to the chassis from the seat bolt with the heat resistant covering to eliminate any risk of fire

I know and have known mates in the valet service. I would never, ever, EVER let a valet park my car. Some of the stories are just horrible.

Great thanks very much for the info guys! Might have one for sale soon.
Cheers!

Just to clarify that's the motors running gear (intercooler, radiator etc) not the drive line
-
Hey guys,
Just wondering how much you would pay for a ej207 out of a v7 sti with all the running gear including turbo and down pipe. 160,000kms
Cheers

Do they work on gc/gf models?iirc someone said they didn't? cant remember who
I dont see why it wouldn't? The key cutter can shape it to fit?

Hey guys,
Anyone interested in chipping in to get a genuine STI key? If we get 10 or so the key will be 41NZD each with splitting shipping.
Good for a bit of wank factor.
Let me know if anyone is keen

After getting Max. over too we just could not get it to come apart. Towed it to the garage up the road and they got it apart this morning. The input shaft rusted into the spigot bearing but is all sorted now. Thanks for your input guys
