  1. Very valuable advice....I have the option of either options. I think if that is the case ill just look for a second hand impreza door for a v7 possibly....Might even be able to find someone on trademe or here wrecking one?
  2. I believe the easiest option would be to try some bigger bolts and washers - I believe this will fail as the bolts probably cross threaded now. The new door would definately be an option and inspect this before putting it on my car....but would be expensive im sure....I thought this would need to be a V7 wrx door? for it to fit correctly aye? Or if anyone can just find one with the 555blue and see what happens. Actually thats a really good question for an experienced member......would most year impreza drivers door fit my v7 wrx wagon door? If so that may become a fairly cheap option. Thanks guys.
  3. Haha that could be interesting, anything to avoid that excess at the end of the day lol. Im driving around with a basic door frame at the moment, luckily have secure car park at work and home lol
  4. Appreciate the insight there Ross. I think pre-drilled backing plate is a good idea, with some heavy duty washers and bolts with loctite to finish off. I'm hoping like hell that it will be as easy as lining up the 3 holes, securing, and off we go. I'll try that and process of elimination from there as may need second hand set up (may have smashed it to bits inside the door who knows, although from what I can feel is intact apart from wobbling around because not secured with the three bolts to subframe), or something of the like. Again appreciate feedback and will update after I look on Saturday morning. Cheers.
  5. Hey, good feedback. I was thinking of doing that. The 3 holes in the subframe are 2-3-4 times the size of the normal hole, at least, that I'm thinking did someone try break in and force the window down? Lol those regulator motors must be so tourqey to have ripped all three bolts out like that. Is it normal for it to be that bad as it was normal for ages, try to put window up and BANG! Off she goes and it's such a mission to work on, I found diagrams but have only taken door card and plastic off this far and couldn't figure it out for ages till now what had actually happened.
  6. Hey guys, new member in need of desperate help...searched and everyone knows this issue but no good resolution. I have V7 wrx sti jdm spec. My drivers window regulator has chewed the metal subframe where the bolts connect. So bad that it's difficult to put bak together but I can line it up (the bolts I the holes) but it's chewed such big holes I don't know how to re attach the window regulator/motor. This is 3 bolts that attached to the door subframe an is common but nothing about how to fix. Any help appreciated. I'm in aucks keen to meet cruise etc etc
