Nah won’t be speed cut cause she cruises at 260 no sweat - of course not on public roads as that would be stupid, especially posting that you would do that speed on public roads on an open forum

Remember young grasshopper, the internet is for ever!!!!
You never know who will be reading these posts, could be the police looking for info on drivers or seeing who's posting dumb s**t they do.
Or could be an insurance company checking after a claim.
Anything you post that shows you doing something illegal can bite you in the ass.

Don't worry. A bit of cut and polish and she'll buff out.
Good thing it's not too bad

Another thing to consider it rear leg room. I found the BL/BP to be quite cramped in the back seat compared to the BE/BH and BM/BR Legacys.
Never sat in back in either the BH or BP so never thought about that - always assumed they were the same - kids haven't complained yet - and one is nearly 6 ft and still growing,

Mines an 05 outback so not quite the year or make, but I do find the 2.5N/A a nice compromise between turbo and H6.
Its got enough low torque to be useful when towing, but still economical enough for around town driving.
It gets about 10kms/l for around town/ stop start type traffic (about 8km journey each way to work and about 100kms a week on 80k roads)
On the open road I can get up to 14km/l.
If you can get a late model BP with most of the BM stuff like proximity key and start button, then with the price difference between the BM and the BP you should be able to get the stereo replaced and still come out ahead money wise.
I am not a fan of the BM's as much as the BP style.

So plugs alone did not fix the problem, It is a bit better, but still sounds like a tractor and has no power.
Apparently its making boost, or so the gauge says, just not doing anything with it.
Can't find any leaks, or loose wires etc.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm hoping its not jumped the belt on a cam pulley or something stupid like that.
In other news, swapped the tyres round so the B4 now has the RE003's on it, and got it some new wheel nuts cos the chrome was flaking off the old ones.
Now I just need to clean the wheels and takes some unfilthy pics...
Whats the boost saying its getting up to?
Probably a long shot, but have you checked the wastegate to make sure its not stuck open or has become disconnected.
I had my clip come off mine and would pop the arm off once it built up boost.
But could be stuck partially open too.
Just some random guesses

Yeah I can photoshop. Might do that.
Will the stickers stick on without grinding the sidewall (had no intentions of doing so... )?
I have no idea?
Im guessing they will. The clip I saw was some dodgy stuff, I think it was the whole smooth side wall with lettering cause racecar look. Was some overseas guys just grinding away at the side wall, I might see if I can find it.

I think they look good on the right car. But as you said they can removed so why not give it a go. Or if you any good at photoshop you could paste something up to see how looks before hand.
Just don't do what I saw in a video where the guys were grinding the sidewalls smooth tout put the stickers on!

I'm assuming for track day, I have a question.
I have some 88% cotton / nylon blend overalls that's been impregnated with flame retardant, will they be fine?
I would give Christchurch Trackdays an email and they can say yes or no. Better to find out early than try to find something on the day.
Another option is Savemart or whatever the equivalent is near you. I had a look at the one near me and they only had 1 that was 100% cotton but was short sleeved. The dearest overalls in general were $20.
-
I picked it up from Palmside auto so have to make my own bracket. But that's ok. I was reading the track day rules and regs and they specify the size/type of fixings to use.

I have just brought my Fire Extinguisher for the Track day at Flat Nats next week and have a couple of general queries.
Where is the best place to locate it (is there a specific place it needs to be?)
I was thinking of mounting it either just in front of the passenger seat or on the trans tunnel next to the centre console.
Any help would be great.
I will be leaving in the car full time now so would like it to be out of the way for the wife when shes a passenger.

Sweet, thank for the help.
Looking forward to driving a forrester - never driven one before

Im going to have a look at this for @Valkyrie as soon as I hear from the seller
4 minutes ago, Kiwi_Fozze said:My concern would be the condition of the center diff, if the owner has been replacing tyres by the pair it could have done damage. Good rotation discipline is key with subies, so you replace all 4 tires at the same time
Whats the best way to check the center diff (if any). Is it the tight turn at slow speed to check binding?

Well currently it’s 4” downpipe into 3” straight pipe to 4” quad tips... with no resonators or mufflers........
Yeah that might be a problem, that sounds like it would be loud. Also do you know the db level of the exhaust as I imagine it wouldn't pass a WOF, also if very loud then the Tuner may have health and safety issues if the noise is too loud.
-
@Conducks What mufflers are you running at the moment?
Do you think its much louder than the stock DP? Sounds a bit strange to me that they wouldn't tune as too loud.
Would putting the original mufflers on for the tune cause issues when you replace with the aftermarket ones?

265/35 RE003’s all round, still a slight stretch on 9.5 wide rims. Might go for 275’s next time round.
I must be getting old as I remember when fitting 225s was considered a wide tyre

Took the car to get tuned on Friday, 160KW ATW, tuner said he expected way more, but a better intercooler may help.
It also started to develop a tick in one of the heads.
Took it home, and checked it out on Saturday morning and found one of the cam carriers had come loose, and the other had snapped bolts.... I swear I tightened them to factory spec. Fixed that, but it still had a tick, now suspecting it may have dropped a shim.
Instead of risking it for the hill climb on Sunday, we decided to pull the engine and swap in a spare for Sunday. Finished that at 2AM and then had to be up by 6 to go to the hill climb.Ran the hill climb, spare engine wasn't too happy but dealt with it surprisingly!
Will pull the top end apart tonight or tomorrow and find out what's going on with the new engine...
How did you go in the hill climb?
Anymore vids?
I still enjoy watching the ones you posted when you had my car

Just remember the people who have to turn up and deal with the aftermath. Having family members working in Hospitals and for St john and seeing and hearing stories of accidents at speeds under 200k's its not a pretty sight and is not a pleasant job.
I remember what it was like to be young and reckless, but theres reckless and then theres out right stupidity.
You say that you are not endanger others because you drive by yourself - well thats all good until some one else further down the road the pulls out thinking you are doing 100kph
