  1. Thanks gotasuby. I've finally found the correct information and you are right - the steering wheel control wires come out of the steering wheel and then go into a bus module that turns them into a different type of signal for the Kenwood HU in the JDM models. So like you I will have to find those wires under the kick panel instead behind the HU. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/steering-wheel-interface-my04-outback-132373.html?t=132373&highlight=aswc
  2. Cool thanks for the response soba. I haven't been able to find a violet white cable anywhere. I know it wasn't in the main audio loom but I had another harness that plugs into the AC controls that I thought would have it but I haven't tested fully yet.
  3. Hey peeps, Does anyone have any information on which wires I need to plug the ASWC into on a japenese import 4th Gen Outback? All the information I have found appears to be for U.S. versions of the Outback and Legacy and none of the references seem to make sense (no violet/white wire for example) for the wires and connectors on my car. I swapped out my factory head unit for a 2-din kit and I'm more than happy with my Pioneer head unit, but it really REALLY bugs me that I can't use the steering wheel controls!
  4. Hey man this is a cool project - have you had any more progress since July?
