i have a nice one for sale - is for v7-10 catback if that is what you need
-
is there any way to put a bov on a diesel cac (18c toyota engine)
is it even possible
a mate was wanting to put and was asking me
i have no idea if there is a throttle as such in a diesel engine
-
is this still still being updated:
v7 sti 11.8 @ 195kmph meremere
have timeslip
mods -
stock turbo and intercooler
just
bigger exhaust
intake
boost controller
and then i road tuned it
-
wat area u bro?
dont up the boost without tuning for best results
-
Exhaust and front mount and bigger turbo and retune with the link
And bigger injectors while u at it and a fuel pump upgrade as well
-
Putting the downpipe won\'t increase the noise by that much
A little but not huge
Get a different muffler if u want more noise if this is not cutting it
-
Get a gt3076r or similar and you will hit round the 300kw mark on a good tuner hats safe as well
With the other ones like Chinese td06 variants you would see 260 at best
-
Yea it\'s a modified ecu and can change mostly
Yea 5.5k seems to be a good compromise and then also a matter if setting tire pressures for optimal launches
Lots of fun to be had
-
hen a tune will get the most out of the car
Have done a fair few tunes and depending what u after it can be either more aggressive for power or more economy or in most instances a bit of both
Always get a lot better drive response than the stock map
And yea that 11.9 at meremere was with stock turbo and exhaust and intake and a simple boost controller and we did a road tune on it
Shows how good the gains can be
On average depending on driving style I can pretty much say u can expect 70-100km increase in fuel economy and more on open roads
On all the tunes we did it\'s about the average gain on economy

I haven\'t connected the leveler at this stage, may just run it fixed. Need to source the switch! Not sure if the same wiring loom comes in all V7 Imprezas as fair as the leveler circuit already being there… I\'m leaning towards no .
Ah I don\'t have a schematic for how I did it, but can draw one up for you if you\'d like?
u dont have to leave it connected to a source - it defaults to the lower position automatically
-
Yeah gave the MAF a clean and it ran alot smoother on to boost but didnt help long term unfortunately. I live in Howick. Have booked it in to subtech for them to have a look at
didnt u go to the mechanics already?
does it constantly have low boost on 3ed/4th gears?
is it always repeatable? (reguardless of time of day or driving conditions - to a point)
i have seen that in a remapped ecu where the boost map was not done right
and i think thy had a tap or something and the guy sold the car and put back to stock and had uneven boost
- just a theory
-
So i got the car back from the mechanics. Unfortunately no fix. They tried a new boost solenoid which apparently didn\'t fix the issue so they didnt replace it. They sealed up some leaks. It runs a little better but have noticed the boost fluctuates. However still boosts to about 1.2 in 1st and 2nd and drops to just below 1bar. 3rd it jumps to 1.5 and then decreases and 5th and 6th it stays solid on 1.5 but doesnt feel like thats what its actually pulling.
Any ideas? I have reset the ECU which didnt have any effect. Thinking I will replace the MAF as that seems to fix alot of other peoples issues. Or just take it to a subaru specialist as it seems to be a bit of a mystery according to the mechanic. However they weren\'t specialised in Subarus or anything.
Cheers, Ben
1.5 bar in 6th should pull
what area u in?

U had a cam sensor code last time we Checked remember. But that should jerk at sort but running on 3 cylinder is totally different
Oh and might also pay to check plugs as have seen where the insulator cracks and then it goes not to fire properly
-
Hey bro unug each coil and see if makes a difference and Lso maybe check all injector plugs are tight
Is the cel on?
If none of the coils an injectors make a difference then could be the avcs issue like I had before
Hmm Also as an alternate test remove afm and start car and see if its any different just in case it\'s not 3 cylinders and just a badly/rough running due to afm/leaks

what car do u have and what current mods....
if you want a stock loccation turbo then u will be limited to any turbo that has a intake mouth of 2.5inch You can get away with slightly bigger mouth by getting a bit creative but there is possibly a 3 inch limit to that as the intake pipe under the manifold is only so big
next u will have to consider all your supporting mods for the chosen turbo (im guessing you have a target HP u wana get?)
also budgets u have to play with?

just that XS D7500 is 6000amps but i can get a D3100 for $699 http://4xspower.com/shop/d-series/d3100/
just wondering what the optima batteries are rated at as i have a friend who runs three of them
So much bass .... Nice one bro
Makes me wana have some sounds back in the car
-
U r rite the factory bov opens easily so might be a matter of perhaps stuck shut for some reason or hose pinched
Swap hose and also remove bov and ensure its not stuck
Hopefully sorts your issue
If not then swap bov and re try I suppose
-
grayson ave manukau city bro
will pm u details

hmm does seem to run ok tho...but yea...i see where u comming from..
have u got the links for the items by any chance?
edit yea its 2x40amp fuses

Need a scanner to get codes in a v7
Could have helped if in Auckland as have scanner thi g
Anywy so maybe re measure oil (flat surface and on cold engine) and see if it really is that low cos I wud be filling up and not driving on low oil
Next maybe the cel was afm related so put in the new afm and do the same loop u did and if no cel then wud have been the afm one wud assume
Also clean the electrical connectors for the engine as a start
See how u go on oil usage
Oh and if u can clean Intercooler off the oil as that\'s a good idea
