Wat area u in?
Are there any leaks etc u can notice
Maybe reply all hoses and electrical plugs
Does the check engine light ever come on
Wat mods hav u got
What fuel do u use
Clean the boost solenoid as a precaution anyway and its lines
Is it a sti
-
personal experience on these models only:
1)
my v3 sti and v4 sti were a lot quicker than my brother in laws evo 4
2)
my v7 RA was quicker than my brother in laws vvo 6 and 6.5
3)
my v7 ra was only fractionally quicker than his evo 7
but the interior on the sti was soooo much better in all aspects
not tested any other near stock versions
once modified then its anyones game
-
If u have full v7 loom then just run that as its just a Lot easier
If u don\'t have loom then start soldering and chopping
-
if u dont wana use fuel pump controller, u can just remove the code from the ecu and it wont complain (from past experience on this type of conversion)
but yea as other have said - get the loom if u wana use the v7 ecu
its not a hard swap
-
-
wont fit unless u have the injector rails to suit it. and yea dont run it on stock ecu but if u have a link or power fc then will be a good upgrade
-
What\'s wrong with it
-
Well done bro!!!
-
The bigger turbo ones seem to be easier to do more Econ driving as easier to stay under boost where as if u have the td04 then they spool fast an harder to keep off boost on them
Just comparing same sorta driving
I used to have a stock v3sti wagon and my mate had a stock v5 wagon and on the Econ scale the bigger turbo car seemed to get better km if both were driven gently
We lived in similar area and worked at the same place so we always compared results
I think on the motorway his td04 wud be spooling more and hitting boost more times even in stop start traffic
Driving wasn\'t too nana driving but just sensible but not over doing it
-
I had a set like that
Sounded like a Honda
But had a very strong top end over the stock setup
U could tell the difference in power when the top end came in
It also cracked at the joints which sucked a lot
In the end I swapped it back to stock due to Honda sound

18x8 Et 43-50 and it will not rub with 225/40/18 tires without rolling guards even
-
18x8 should fit under nicely if u can stretch the tire a bit
The wagons don\'t get the wider sedan wrx guards but that\'s not gonna be an issue
U can roll the guard lip a bit for extra clearance
-
On the gc8 models just wite in a big feed from the pump relay and a good ground and ur sorted. Anything 8ag wire is way more than u will ever draw (well tested in a near 300kw setup anywY)
Not so easily on the v7+ as the fuel controller gives variable voltage to pump based on load so a straight wire will cause a cel
U can remove the cel a s get round the issue or u can put a resister in the controller output to fool it
In saying that, speedsource appears to have run their 300kw Sti on stock wiring (or so the article on their Sti would suggest)
-
the official power may have been 206kw but they were a lot more
as an example
3inch exhaust and pod filter and ebc on a otherwise stock spec c made 208kw@w at torque performance dyno
-
nice effort man
-
Genuine spec c was only released in 2002 and had the v2 grill not v1 grill this has
Maybe the guy is right and this is a mash of bits put together to makeup a Ra
Car looks nice tho
/quote]
Err, the car on that magazine cover has a V1 grill and is pretty Spec C looking...
hahaha i meant the spec c have v2 grill not the v1 grill the pic shows of the TM listed car.....
the magzine car is a RA not a spec c

Yea as above 7psi is in limp mode perhaps or the plumbing has been played with and gotten wrong
I wud say get it checked first before doing any mods as there maybe an underlying issue that can cause more issues if u just simply push the boost up
From the wrx\'s I\'ve done it is usually sitting around 13psi depending what accuracy ur gauge has
Don\'t up the boost without checking y its only living on 7psi man
A scan and some nice running logs will tell exactly what the engine is doing
What area R u from
-
have done a similar setup with good results
also recomend upgrading the intercooler as that allows more boost with a tune to run nicely
the gfb atomic is not bad
set it up and tune to suit and u will be happily smiling
and also pick some fuel economy along the way
what area u in
if auckland can help out with the setup
usually best to stick under 15/16psi on the stock wrx block
-
ra and spec c differences
vf30 vs vf34
more weight reduction
suspension geometry changed
different ecu map
temp sensor on inlet mani like v8
supposed to have had ported heads (altho a RA mate opened his heads and they looked better than the sti ones - assuming they too are hand ported/polished)
same crank as v8sti
water sprayer resovor in boot
no shiftlight in dash like std sti or even RA
cam differences between v7 and v8
v8 got the inlet and exhaust avcs (tbc as never personally seen a v8 head)
different profile to suit the TS setup
-
yea RA had the manual vent setup (which this has...and cant be prodrive as dash is not blue - prodrive have bluu dash)
-
yep as above - the brembo ones dont get DCCD and the 4pot breraks one get the proper DCCD box
check the model code man
last thing u want is to buy a sti thats been dressed as sti
i know if a few sti that have roof scoop added and dressed as RA but its not genuine
if u spending the $ then better to get the genuine stuff ay man
-
Says was a standard Sti and then someone built it as a Ra
Get the model code and confirm cos no point spending all the coin on a wanabe Ra
