  1. Aye I will do that, been meaning to take more pics of my BH5 stuff, just keep forgetting!
  2. That's why the guy we got it off bought it, then ran out of time/ money/ motivation to do it. And yes, I think single conversion is on the cards, as its missing the turbo's and manifolds anyway!
  3. Only one I have just now, picking it up on Saturday, will get some moar pics then!
  4. Bought a cheap as Legacy to turn into a track hack. Yay, no more abusing the daily!
  5. It was the cambelt timing being all over the place. It must have been all over the place with the cambelt that was on it, because I just replaced it and put the new one on the same. Checking it with the instructions with x teeth here xy teeth there etc, it was a mile out, luckily doesn't seem to have bent anything. Now to reset the boost controller and lock the screw in place this time!! PS: Doing anything to the cambelt without removing the radiator is a prick, not recommended!! My arms now look like I've been in a fight with a Honey Badger.
  6. Narp, just the old unhook line, turn ignition on, watch fuel squirt out. Not very sciencetifical, just lets one know the pump is moving some fuel. I wonder if the injectors are all clogged up from the engine sitting around for ages? The exhaust does smell of fuel after cranking it tho, so they are doing something.
  7. Havent actually checked spark yet, it started raining, and I had had enough bleeding for one day... Plugs are around the correct way I think, if the wiring hasn't been messed with then one of them only reaches the correct coil, I'll check that too, just in case some derping has happened.
  8. So I got the engine in and everything hooked/ filled up today. But now it wont start, I have checked fuel pressure, and all the earths. It cranks fine, and seems like its trying to fire, just wont quite catch. No CEL's showing. I checked the cambelt alignment at least 3 times, before I put the covers on, so Im 99% sure its not that. If I hold the throttle open it makes thumping noises out the exhaust, like its trying to fire. Any idea's oh denizens of the interwebs?
  9. Finally got the f#$%^g stuck engine mount nut off! Not to get the engine out, swapsie all the bits over, and put the newer engine in. At least its not raining.
  10. They fit the model before, whatever (BG?) that is, because that's what mine came off. And I think the same year's WRX's, but don't quote me on that.
  11. Right, so I have a replacement engine, heads have 003 and 005 on them, VF31 primary turbo, so it should be the same as my original. I don't think it has done many k's at all, it looks immaculate as far as hoses and other things that deteriorate with heat and age go. So where is the best place to get a cambelt kit from? Has anyone got any of the ones listed in the link below by subtech? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=951038203
  12. Bought a new engine for it. Which looks like its done about half the k's of the old borken one!
  13. What can you guys do with a RevC B4/GTB twin turbo ECU?
  14. Interesting point, hadn't thought of that, makes sense to me! And also just thought, head codes, A is 004, B and apparently C are 003.
  15. And now I'm confused... Tried figuring out how to identify a RevC engine that isn't in a car, can't even figure out what I need to look for on mine to identify it! Heads have 003 on both, block has 712 on it, yellow injectors. So what do I need to look for to make sure I get a RevC not a RevA-B?
  16. Found the cause of the issues, stupid cheap ass boost controller had would itself out 5-6 "clicks" from the 15 out to 20 something, so it was probably free boosting. Gah, should have spent the $100 on a decent one in the first place, super derp!
  17. This. I call mine "The Speed Hand", cos its faster than any human hand is at rotating fasteners!
  18. Cheers Rossup! I will do cam belt /water pump etc before putting any new engine in anyway, be silly not to. Might order a silicone intake hose and water hose kit as well.
  19. Aye! I did a few laps of Ruapuna in it, its very nice! But no, I think I'm relegated to the Suzuki till my car is fixed.
  20. BFH. I kid I kid! A small pry bar or 2 are always useful, need careful use though, like the BFH.
  21. Just checking, an EJ206 is the same internally as my EJ208? Just things like the oil cooler, turbo's, and a couple of other bits and bobs are different yah? So the 206 would be a viable option if I swapped the bits over? Or chucked an external oil cooler on, which might not be a bad idea anyway, while its in bits.
