Do you have a grimmspeed one already? If not using it for the car its made for they're a waste of time as a standard 3-port mac valve is identical and can be had for half the price. Grimmspeed ones are only kinda worthwhile as they come with the correct connector and bracket.

Yeah I have a 02+ sti one mounts are the same but the connector is a little different

I had launch set up with criteria so you had to be 100% throttle position, -20km/h and something else. Pretty much had to drop the clutch at full throttle to enable launch control which saved having a switch.

For flat shift criteria was above 5.5k, full throttle and clutch switch. Again no on/off switch.

    What ecu are you running?

Oh right I kinda get how it can be set up now

Going to be running a Link G4

  3. I know what you guys are telling me about the anti lag it's not really a necessity thats why I was thinking about having a switch for it so it's not on all the time, but if it is to much of a hassle then I guess I could always leave it out. For the FFS I was given two different ways to have it setup- ''If you wanted to run flat shifting every time you use launch control you wouldn’t need a speed sensor. To fit a clutch switch, wire in and set up, as well as fit a toggle switch to allow you to turn launch control on and off'' and ''If you wanted to run launch control with no flat shift function it is best to run a speed sensor so the link can de-activate the clutch switch once you start moving''. I won't be using FFS every time I drive the car so would you guys agree having it set up with the second option would be the way to go?

Just a quick question for you first.

Firstly are you doing motorsport? If not, why do you want Anti-lag?

Anti-lag will kill your turbo rather fast if its a standard VF series unit.

Launch control and FFS are otherwise awesome. Launch control is great for building boost and obviously launching off the line and FFS is equally as helpful when you're powering up a straight and don't want to lift to change gears :)

We'll the car is a weekend/track car running a aftermarket turbo and the anti lag will be wired to a switch so it's not on all the time.

My question is what's the difference between getting ffs setup and ffs without it setup, because it runs fine everytime I've done it without the tune. Just wanting to know because I've been quoted 5-700 to set up switches and wiring to ecu and I don't see the point if it isn't going to be much different than ffs without the setup

  5. Hey guys I am getting my car tuned in a few weeks and will be getting launch control and anti lag set. I am so looking at getting flat foot shifting setup. What are the benefits of getting this setup instead of not having it setup and flat foot shifting anyway. Cheers

  6. Hey guys I have a set of 16x8 +42 wheels to go on my 98 coupe. I am wondering what is the widest size tyre I will be able to fit. I will also be rolling the guards and getting adjustable suspension to help fitment of the wheels any help will be much appreciated. Cheers :)

  7. Hi I am looking at upgrading the ecu in my Version 4 type r to a version 7 sti ecu. From what i'v read/heard I need the ecu, loom and a v7 cam sensor, is there anything else I would be needing? Also I will be running speed density.

I always grease on outside and inside. Done prob 50-60 now. None have leaked. I use the flywheel bolts and 3 washers to press it in. Tighten them in order. Works mint.

Cheers bro it worked mint now just 4 axel seals and rear diff pinion seal left :P

I use the old seal press it up on the new one thats in place and tap it in. make sure its clean though.. Clean the new seal and block with brakeclean or similar use grey sealant on outer part of seal or it will leak, i use bit of Vaseline on mating surface of seal as well before installing to keep it lubed till the oil reaches it.

Sweet I'll give it a go

Using a socket and small taps with a hammer, so it applies the load evenly?

Don't think I'll find a socket that big its 4 inch's in diameter lol. I went and got a pbc pipe that fits onto it nice but since its plastic it wasn't strong enough to keep hammering =/

  11. Hey guys I was in the process of changing my clutch when I noticed the rear main seal and oil separator plate were both leaking. A New oil separator plate was pretty straight forward to install but I'm having a hard time fitting in the rear main seal because I can't seem to get it in evenly, I'v tried almost everything I could think of still havn't managed to fit it in anyone got any suggestions?
