okay, that's cleared a lot of things up, we got to learn at some point! But I feel confident after reading a few things online!

that's perfect, and the oil filter is the thing on the bottom of the sump which has a big thread right? is the washer like a gasket for that?

Hey guys, so I have never performed a service on my own car ever, but I think it's about time I learnt how to do it.
Typically a service consists of new oil, new oil/air filter... and what else?
Also where would be the best place to get these parts for a 97 GT?
Is there any free Haynes manual PDF's anywhere, I found one for $20 which I will get if I have to?
Any tips or recommendations would be great!
