Just wondering as a short term replacement, did Subaru use the same motor its self in any other models besides the gc8 and gf8. Like say if you used a twin turbo legacy as a donor and kept all the other components from the wrx like turbo etc. Would the engine be identical? If so what other models have identical motors.

It currently has a 0.9 Bar cap on it.

I have a 1998 wrx and the plastic overflow tank does not drain back into the metal expansion tank. The car squirts coolant out of the plastic tank and overflows when you push it hard and eventually drains the expansion tank and overheats. The car down on power at all and I have just replaced the thermostat with a genuine one. If the car has squirted coolant and you look in the plastic tank it will be bubbling. Any ideas?
