  1. On the Mcintosh system you can get a unit called Anycar MP3. Place in Christchurch sell them ($150) google it. Plug in play unit, allows you to run USB sticks and also has Aux In (also a Bluetooth model available). You press the CD button on headunit a second time to flick between changer and the MP3 unit. Bearing in mind it only supports 6 folders and 99 tracks per folder.
  2. Performance - K&N or Simota Panel Filter ($40-$130) - Free flow exhaust system ($1300) - ECU Tune at PBMS in Pukekohe ($900) Handling - Nolathane Lower Control Arm Bushes ($130) If you wanted to stretch further (cold air box and custom headers) but reckon for $2500 for the above list you would get a fun, nice handling car.
  3. Actually a non Subaru question (but I do own a Subaru, so hope its ok to ask), but answers may help people experiencing similar issues on their Subaru. Looking forward to advice. Anyway, I recently did an Autoclutch upgrade on a Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart Ver R (pressure plate, kevlar disc, flywheel grind) plus obtained a new release bearing (Sachs, comes mounted to fork). Issue \ Question : 1 After install I am now getting ALOT of gear rollover noise in neutral with chirp from the release bearing and also in gear at low speed. Pressing the pedal in about 1 inch eliminates the noise all together. Car shifts fine, clutch engagement is great, no slipping, pedal feels nice. My gut feeling is lack of pre load on the release bearing (this is a self adjusting hydraulic system) which is resulting in the bearing skipping on the pressure plate (chirp noise) + vibration that equates to more gear rattle than stock (the getrag 453 is slightly rattly to begin with). Any other thoughts people ??? Issue \ Question : 2 If gear rattle is still present after trying everything I can (short of reverting to stock setup again or a new gearbox). I am tempted to try the UUC Motorwerks cocktail (Redlin 75W140NS + D4 ATF) to see if will dampen the rattle or eliminate it. Anyone know of any reason why this would be a big no no ?? apprently BMW guys use it on their Getrag boxes after lightweight flywheel upgrades and it works a treat...no detrimental effects.
