Na can't really do that with these shocks since you need a allen key or similar hex shaped tool in the centre of the 'bolt' to hold it from spinning whilst loosening the nut, got there doing it like this in the end, couldn't get enough grip on the nut to turn it without slipping off so just held that one where it was and got the breaker bar on and slightly spun the whole bolt/shock inner.

I had a similar issue when I did mine.

The only way to get it was to put it back into the car to crack the nut.

Tried a few/many cars (helps I work with them all day) - but a ten min drive in a car is quite different to living with it I guess

Considerations are a) wagon, b) has to go semi good or the potential to c) post 2000

    No to a 3.0 legacy

Tried all sorts, the ideal is an old S4 wagon (the 2.7TT kind) but they're few and far between, may settle for an allroad - they look kinda pimp with the flares color coded and late model rims, still can go like a cut cat, and they can be had for $cheapas

Assuming the suspension hasn't fcked out

    Why no legacy 3.0?

  3. Gen2 if you want to run Android 5.1.1. The last update of the custom rom on the Gen 1 was 4.4.2 I think.

It is also a lot faster. The Gen1 is a bit slow

Also if you can afford the LTE version it makes life easier than having to have a separate WiFi thing in your car.

  4. White smoke is probably oil. The initial hit could have been from oil somehow getting into the combustion chamber while it out of the car. Being moved or stored at the wrong angles or just something that some used to clean the intake with so I wouldn't worry too much about the initial startup smoke. If it carries on though there could possibly be issues. Maybe rings or valve seals. I had an old Vectra that had leaking valve seals and it would smoke a bit every time I started the car for about 10 seconds and that was about it.

  5. All I have posted is pictures of the work that was done and only factual information.

Just because the person running this is new does not mean any better work will come from it.

The new owner would have been fully aware of the car and what I was going through too.

But unfortunately the problem here really does lie with the old owner. Oh well. Lesson learned.

I will edit the first post to make that clear.
