I'm looking at buying some bilsteins with standard springs to put in my TS-R. Does anyone know the factory ride height of a legacy with GTB bilsteins in it?

Would like to know how much they will lower my legacy, if at all, so I can decide whether or not to buy some lowering springs at the same time.

Also, what lowering springs does everyone recommend for BG5's? King springs seem to sit too low at the back, and apparently Tein springs are no good?

    Cheers.

When I put Bilsteins in my '99 TS-R it was almost exactly the same height as the originals. So I bought some Tein lowering springs. They definitely stiffened the whole ride but made it handle far better than with stock springs.

It went from this, (Bilsteins, non-lowered):

To this, (Bilsteins, with the teins):

    Lowered it about 30mm

Think ive got a set of factory tweets from a BH5 and mackintosh system you can have for $20? Courier them to you for nuffin. They still work or did when i took them out.

I replaced them with infinity reference tweeters on the original bracket and I used double sided tape to hold them on. Worked well for 3 years.

    Just PMed you.

The indicator bulb has blown on my B4 left side - tried to remove the assembly (as manual description) but found i'd need to remove the bumper first to get it fully out. It's catching on the bottom. Is this right? Does the assembly require removal first to get the bulb connector out - could i just split the assembly open in-situ (it wiggles out a little) and replace the bulb from the front? Bit of a fix-it spaz and not prepared to start removing bumpers if i can help it. Thought the connector would just come out itself from the back but no space to do so grrrr!

    Ta muchly! ( :

On my '99 BH Wagon Ive taken the headlights out on various occasions and I never had to take the bumper off.

Just unscrew the three bolts and move it around until it comes out.....worked for me

Mind you my wagon didn't come stock with the HID lights so they could possibly be an issue for you.

Mean. How easily will they fit into my original bracket though?

  5. Good News :D

I got around to checking the ground the other day and sure enough it wasnt connected properly, the end was moving around underneath the bolt that was supposed to be holding it down!!

Have fixed it now and the sub is once again humming out epic basslines ;D

    Cheers for the advice.

  6. Yea it goes on and off randomly. Also it isn't heating up have checked it and its not hot.

The other day though while the car wasn't moving I unscrewed the remote wire and then screwed it back in and the light went on then slowly faded off ???

Last night it turned on as I went over a speed bump.

  7. So my 1200w sony subwoofer which has a sony 444w amplifier on it randomly goes on and off during a song.

It never used to do this and has only recently happened..the wiring is fine, but the problem is that the remote wire that switches the amp on is causing the problem as the LED light that shows the amp is on goes on and off ???

Does it sound like the amp is f*****?

    Any thing else?

    cheers

Have you tried tightening the tensioners on the two belts at the front of the motor? or checking that the belts aren't about to crumble and fall off?

Noob question, but how exactly do you tighten the tensioners cos my legacy ps belt/tensioners are squealing like a stuck pig.

    cheers ;D
