  1. I thought that too, but it doesn't have one. must just be cause its a sohc 1800, all the other subies I have ever done have, does seem like it is running on limp mode though

Can only get it to do it well in the water with the load of jetunit, with it disconnected and revving freely it revs fine, and hitting limiter like its hitting rev limit, like it stops n bounces on a limiter, then all of a sudden itll rev properly out to normal limiter but if u button off and back on gas be on early limiter, and after abit being on the gas will rev out again

Hi all, I've wired up a ej18 into a jet boat, it starts and runs okay and revs fine on the spot with no load, when you chuck it in the water and go to take off it will limit around 2000 revs and then rev out, will do it again when you come off the throttle too. I have hooked up the check light and it seems to be running with check light on, its not the air flow metre as have tried another one. Is there something that needs tricked on these ecu's? Also does anyone know what ecu pins are the ones that need bridged to trigger diagnostic mode. Motor has all sensors but the purge control. Has tps, 02, maf, and coolant sensor, was running fine in the car before going into boat.. Any idea's? one other thing. Do the check lights on these come on when u turn key on for as long as pump primes and then goes off?
