  1. Alright BC5RA, your knowledge has been of valuable use! I plumbed the m.b.c in between the bottom port of the stock solenoid and the post airflow meter vacuum port hole thingy. This has helped a great deal and I now have a constant 9lb. Adjustment to the m.b.c while plumbed in here does not change boost pressure at all, I have tried adjusting from all to nothing and have seen a constant 9lb. On closer inspection, I have discovered that there was, in fact, no restrictor pill present in the vacuum line. I found this a bit buzzy as I was under the impression that no restrictor pill would drop boost levels, not increase them. Anyway, that seems to be the issue so I will pop down to the local Subaru parts place tomorrow and order in a new vacuum hose (with said pill) and hopefully, that will bring things right. I'm not really willing to go on the record and claim that this 9lb is actually an accurate 9lb, I feel that my $20 no named boost gauge is full of S***, but at least it gives me an indication and it does appear to be consistent with where it peaks now. Again, I'm also not too sure if this rip-off turbo smart boost T is doing what it really should, as when plumbing it between the wastegate and turbo nipple there was no change whatsoever, regardless of adjustment level. Then again this could be linked to the restrictor pill issue, I'm not really too sure. I'm still pretty new to this kind of thing so its all a bit of trial and error!
  2. Yup yup, Definitely plumbed in correctly. Hence the head scratching! Righto, this sounds to make sense. I will attempt when I next have a chance. Cheers!

  4. Question time. So I am still having this fuel cut/boost issue. I have rerouted the vacuum lines to eliminate the b.c.s and run straight off wastegate pressure, this worked fine and gave me 7lbs, so that's sweet. I then plumbed in an m.b.c while still bypassing the factory boost controller, no matter what the m.b.c is set at I am still fuel cutting. This lead me to have a look at the ECU. I have in place a Z4 which I am unsure if this is factory or a common upgrade. I am thinking that I must be maxing out injectors, coils and maybe fuel pump. The bit I can't get my head around is that with an m.b.c plumbed in, should I be able to lower boost levels below the 15lb that I'm seeing? As far as mods go that would aid a boost rise, I have an f.m.i.c, open air intake, and a terrible slightly over 2-inch catless exhaust. I also have no provision for an o2 sensor post turbo, so I imagine that aint helping a heap either. Any thoughts? I'm sure this would make perfect sense to some of you guys..
  5. Cheers bud. That is my current set up but I don't appear to have a restrictor pill anywhere in the system. I am a little unsure if how I have set up the vacuum lines from the inlet manifold and the little dowel from the throttle body is correct. I researched it the best it could (still unsure of the throttle body dowl) hooked it up and it kept stalling out when coming to a stop or hitting the clutch. Had a rage fit and tee'd the throttle body dowl into the line between the b.o.v and the inlet manifold and it seemed to work. Idle still drops a little low so I am thinking that's not quite right. I will get a proper(ish) diagram of what I have done up here when I get a chance
  6. Alrighty, do any of you guru's out there have, or can point me in the right direction of a factory vacuum diagram for a V2 GC8? I've been having mixed success with what I have been able to find online, with a fair bit of information that contradicts each other. At this point, I feel I am fairly close to what it should be as I don't seem to be having vacuum leaks anymore. I am now suffering from over boosting and need to have another look into the b.c.s. I brought the car with a majority of the vacuum lines either unhooked or missing so I haven't had the luxury of being able to retrace my steps. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I should add that this relates to pretty much all vacuum lines, inlet manifold etc. This thing truly was a mess!
  7. Yea it looks very sensor like. I really don't have any idea though. Perhaps I best have a thorough look at it first
  8. This! Drivers side above the head. It has a hose to the crankcase, and what appears to be a plug (white thing) on the end. To be fair, I haven't actually checked to see if this, in fact, is an electrical plug, however, I did check to see if I had any additional loom that could be for this thing. Alas, the answer is no. Should I be concerned?
  9. Thank you very much good sir. I still have a good few evenings work to put in before I'll be able to take for another test drive.
  10. alright man, cheers for that. That part is now sorted. Any ideas on the three lines from the center of the inlet manifold? what I currently have is drivers side going to b.o.v and a teek pipe to nowhere, center is about 100mm long angry going nowhere, passenger side runs back under the inlet Manny and disappears some where. unable to track it with the manifold in place
  11. I know I really should do a search for this but well, I haven't. Can anybody point me in the right direction of where the vacuum lines for the boost solenoid go? I have found 2 of the 3 lines that come out of the center of the inlet manifold going nowhere and the line from the b/s to the throttle body has a tee pipe connected in going nowhere. I think this might be the beginning of my boost cut issues.
  12. that would make sense. I assume it's still the platform though yeah? any aftermarket gf parts will work? I guess it would be fairly random for them to change the platform up in the middle of a production run.... alas, crazier things have happened!
  13. just out of interest is there any major differences between a gf8 wrx and an gravey express? obviously there are the cosmetic items, two tone paint, rear spare wheel thingy but is that where it ends?
