Pretty hard to get those wrong. Have you double checked it is in the correct port on the control unit if it is a model with one?

Where is the vac teed into?

I agree, I didn’t install the boost gauge myself as it comes with the car. It is tee’d off a manifold reference and then teed a second time.

  2. I’m going through the wiring and vacuum placement on my defi boost gauge and everything seems to be done properly, but it doesn’t steadily climb or hold its position, the needle just sort of runs around the general area. Is this from the internal waste gate flapping around or is there an issue with the stepper motor or something? I can take a vid if needed.

I should also note that during the opening ceremonies when the gauges sweep through the full range of motion my boost and egt are quite jerky on their way back down.

Mca "street performance" Coilovers installed, with custom spring rates and their "stealth" option colouring.

brembos on, had to drill and helicoil one of the front caliper bolts as it was stripped.

Bendix heat treated vented slotted front rotors with z series pads, Bendix slotted vented rears, again with z series pads. Also stuck in some endless handbrake shoes, should make a nice difference.

Bled it all out, both sides of the calipers, pedal is still a bit squidgy in the first little bit of travel. Need to re bleed it, but gotta get more fluid first.

Looking forward to getting this beast tuned. Been driving it around for a while on wastegate pressure and break in tune, and it absolutely hauls arse.

When I did pass/rotors on mine I had the same issue, apparently there is a certain order you are supposed to do it in.

The Legacy threw an ABS/TCS fault.... no codes, wtf. Did some digging around and it is entirely possible that both my brake light bulbs were popped and this somehow caused the lights to come on? Replaced both bulbs, lights gone off, fingers crossed they bloody well stay off.

When I bought my sti abs light and warning indicator for the ebrake being pulled were on, even when disengaged. Turned out to be the abs pump/module. Code wouldn’t pop up on a regular code reader, dealers code puller told me what the fault was though.

Whats It usually cost to get a boost gauge setup? I've never bothered with aftermarket gauges etc before in any of my cars, would be quite handy for checking leaks like you've mentioned

Buy the gauge and a pod and about an hour in your garage or driveway. Boost gauges are super easy. I have a defi boost gauge but my gforce II electronic boost controller also has a boost/vacuum display.

hell, if you live in/near Hamilton or drive down from Auckland or where ever I’ll throw it in for you if you aren’t confident in doing it yourself.

  6. Engine and transmission mounts are in, bolted up the header as well. Didn’t realize in my infinite wisdom that the header was a 3 bolt instead of the factory two bolt so I walked away for today. I’ll pull the turbo out tomorrow and put the uppipe in. Might as well do the inlet and catch can at the same time.

Also I’ll probably just come up and check out one of the Auckland meets.

I might have a spare Laser cut stainless flange that my brother cut (pretty much a plate exactly the same size and holes as the BOV base). Someone can easily weld a bit of stainless tube on one side and then just join the two with a but of silicone hose and hose clamps and bolt the BOV into the flange. lmk if your keen and ill see if I still have it.

I appreciate it, the shop that is welding it together took a print of the flange on my bov and off my factory intercooler and were laser cutting it they just didn’t have time to finish it up before heading home.

That'll probably be the cheapest and easiest way around it. Are you gonna run some extra silicone piping to extend the outlet side too?

Yeah gonna have to so I can continue recirculating.
