  1. Got the code pulled after cleaning the gummed up sensors didn't fix the problem. DTC 31- front right hold valve malfunction.

anyone have experience with this? Does the solenoid need cleaned? Do I have to get a new abs pump? Dealership seems to think this is a 4700 dollar job which is insane.

  2. Yeah, they're soaking in penetrating oil right now. I'm running to the store to get some grease today, I was planning on using lithium grease, like cv grease. Cars already lowered and new struts don't have springs or top hats so yeah if the previous owner did chop the bump stops I plan on doing it.

  3. Wait, 600 bucks to get coil overs certed? WhAt the hell is getting something certed? Do you have to get any other modifications certified? I have a lot to learn about modifying cars in New Zealand.

My next question is where do you get pads/rotors for brembos. I don't imagine supercheap or repco having suitable replacements.

Had a has evc5 in one of my old cars. What parts not hooked up?

Looks like its a 5 pin power harness, I pulled the dash apart today and I'm thinking there's a problem with how he wired it and that's why it's not powering up. He used piggy backs to run the power and ground to somewhere in the center console instead of all the places under the dash.

  5. No idea, I've had an 05 wrx that I heavily modded in the past but it was new so didn't have the little maintenance issues. It might be an oil feed for the avcs or possibly cam seals even but I don't know how to check those. From under the car it looks like it's coming out if the banjo fitting, I have a timing belt appointment next week so I'm thinking of going full red neck and just throwing silicon on it and letting the mechanic handle both issues.

  6. Well I bought the car on Monday and knew it had a small oil leak, previous owner thought it was coming from the rocker cover gasket. After degreasing the bottom of the engine and firing it up, discovered it's coming from a banjo fitting further on, passenger side of the car. Went out and bought some crush washers to replace the presumed bad ones only to discover that you can't get that bolt off without removing the timing cover, removing all the timing gears/belt and then removing the rear timing cover as well. Reassembled everything I pulled apart to get to that point and cracked a coke to have a think.
