Was in for passenger air bag, fuel pump harness and secondary air pump fuse.Did you get the airbag recall work done? or fuel pump wiring harness?
The airbag recall is a dash out job. The shifter will be unclipped because they have to remove the center console in order to remove the dash
I got mine done at Winger Subaru and it was a breeze. Got a loan car for the day (ugly ass Forrester) - to top it off they even put my radio presets back in for me
Hah good point on the shifter the guy said they didn't need to touch the shifter and wouldn't have.....
This has been a muck around like heck -
Car has to go back into the dealers as airbag light keeps coming on. I took it back the same day after the recall work and they admitted there was high resistance in one of the connections but the airbag light was simply a coincidence. It's for the front crash airbag sensor. They reset it and sent me on my way.
I said how unlikely it was that it just happens to come on after their work. If they try charge me for the parts then it's going to be a tough day at the office for them. I'm not going to front up costs for a mistake they made. Pretty clear what ever they did wrong shorted something out or the high resistance caused the issue.
Plus there was greasey finger marks on both A pillars. Unclipped gear shifter, no idea why they needed to touch that? Dirt on the headrests from where they were working on the fuel pump. Seats were left in the reclined position. Car was also in sports mode. It's never in sports mode so was a bit confused by that.
They are not a Subaru dealer so I suspect they just are the only place here who can do the work. Wish I had of travelled to Nelson to do it to be honest- 1

So got the car back. Feels very different, seats etc memory was reset, but not 2 minutes from my house the airbag light comes on.......
Haven't got to check the dash for gaps etc yet -
Well so far one upsell has been put forward lol. Apparently my fuel filter is dirty, now what I caught them.out on was that he said it could be changed and he hasn't pulled the pump yet.....

My 2.5 turbo uses 10.9l/km around town average and 13l/km open road.

Brand doesn't matter with the awd, it's when different Tyre sizes are on that it matters. Eg 235/45/17s on front then 235/55/17s on back that it actually matters then it causes problems

I think 06+
This is interesting does anyone know why the fuel pump needs to be checked and what year cars this applies to?

I mean alot can go wrong, chip fries the ECU or similybut people have had success with the..https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32797688145.html?pid=808_0000_0131&spm=a2g0n.search-amp.list.32797688145&aff_trace_key=&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=10348NwHzJIhJ4uuWKlCzaz_k_UuQVPYecyIO0OaJD5DOMS_SGoq5H5nQsObbf9yrk_Y1564192982463
Would anything be wrong with these. At a glance i cant imagine how a cable could go wrong. Rated 4 half stars outa 5 if that counts for anything.

And it has heated wipers, didn't know that lol explains the copper at the bottom. Never noticed them so don't need them

$2000 quotes. From dealer and Smith and Smith, spoke to another company and they confirmed it's the old ass eyesight which doesn't use any sensors just the cameras so going to be $400. Sweet!

I have the old eyesight not the projected one or anything it's very basic. So I can see why a normal screen would be fine.
-
Obviously I have no intentions on anything not legit.

Yeah I might do that, should have mentioned it's in passengers side and isn't that visible really. I might have to do what you saidThe best way to guarantee the right windscreen is to have one ordered through the dealer. Even then, calibrating the Eye-Sight comes down to the replacement method. They need to replace any gel pads or adhesives used between the cameras and any other sensors the system uses. Fingers crossed they don't hit or knock the cameras when removing & refitting. The number of cars we see for a windscreen recalibration with poor workmanship or cameras requiring re-aiming ($45k of equipment needs to be ordered in) is horrific unfortunately...
Could an option be you add windscreen cover to your policy now and hold out on the claim until the next WOF?
For my 2c, I had a rear windscreen replaced by Smith & Smith (forget the branch) they used second hand glass, snapped the aerial wires off left hanging and left a lot of glass in the car. They refused to ever use second hand glass, and said they were not qualified or equipped to remove all the glass from within the boot... Their tune changed I had my insurance company involved...

Ah s*** that doesn't sound good lol, I might have to forgo the heated screen and just get a normal legacy screen. Apparently shouldn't need to calibrate it if I just use an oem legacy screen. HopefullyWhen I checked the car for you I remember the guy saying it was a pain in the ass getting the windscreen replaced for it as that version never had I-Sight according to the glass places. Had to take it in and they had to source one especially made for it.

Unfortunately not covered.Have you not got windscreen cover with your insurance?
-
So unfortunately a rock flicked up and got my windscreen so it has a decent crack on passengers side. It has eyesight and heated windshield is this going to be something I can have replaced most places or a specialist? A bit worried what it's going to cost too.

Technically yes it needs a cert. Realistically how many wof issuers would notice? Not many unless they know Subarus wellhey just a couple quick questions, i have a 1999 Legacy B4 thats been swapped with a version 7 STI motor, do i need a cert? it passed a wof inspection like this but ive heard that it will fail a wof without cert... can someone please give me info on this as i need to know if i need a cert or not.
Cheers

Low price is subjective. The b series twin turbos really have tanked in value. It all depends on condition and how it's been cared for. I'd probably spend the bit extra and get a 2003 onwards legacyHey all.
I'm looking at purchasing a 2002 Legacy Blitzen. Its travelled around 190,000kms hence the low price of $3500. Is this a good purchase or am I being silly? Also things to look out for? I'm aware of cam belt and the associated parts needed. Your advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Some of you may remember my gold bh5 from a few years ago, I saw it in Nelson yesterday parked up along the waterfront. In a very sad state, was so gutted to see it like that. Massive dents everywhere curbed mags, scratches and just a huge mess.
