I think if it was the release bearing the noise would go away when you press in the clutch if I remember right.

I would highly recommend Dan. He just fitted a boost gauge for me and did a very good job at a good price.

Are the vf45 single or twin scroll ? I have a facelift gtb spec manual 2006 and was under the impression it was single scroll but other info I have read
tells me it is twin scroll . cheers

Hi Guys
I have a 2002 forester xt automatic and I was wondering if there are any members who could do an ecu reflash/tune
that live in christchurch. I was basically wanting to get better fuel economy and better response nothing to extreme.

^^+1 bead of silicone sealant along top of garnish stops water getting into tail light.

You can put candle wax on belts to stop them squeaking only works on belts that are not slipping

Try cleaning your maf sensor, surging and a rough idle can be caused by a faulty maf

I have my factory airbox getting air feed from inner guard with delete of resonator. I found though when I completely blocked off inner fender from engine bay it was not getting enough air and would run super rich at wot. I unblocked the hole were the pipe goes from headlight to fender and it runs fine.

You could try paint doctor from repco it spose to remove oxidation and other paint blemishes. I have tried it not for oxidation and its awesome.

Yea newer models have an engine symbol instead.

Just looking on google and it seems most people leave it in drive with automatics. I\'m now going to change my driving habits and leave it in drive

Mike\'s not too good with written or spoken language... so I will explain. I believe he was expressing some mystification at your statement about changing from N to D while completely stationary being smoother with your foot on the brake.
Why put it into N??
Thats why you have a stall converter.
If you wanna play with gears get a manual. If not , leave it to do it\'s job...

Thought this might be helpful to someone. I have a forester xt and have always thought the heater was pretty crap all noise and not much action. My older forester has a good heater so I thought newer ones were just crap. well I was trawling the net and found a thread about changing your cabin air filter (I didn\'t even realise they had one lol) Well low an behold I pulled my one out and it was filthy, got new one priced at repco $70!!! bugger that so I cleaned mine and now heater works mean as. Link is for a wrx but you get the idea
