It will be because in 'D' the torque converter will be in lockup, meaning more of a direct drive between engine and gearbox (less slip = less revs), when you shift into 'manual' mode, it drops off the lockup and that's why your revs increase.

Righto, 2004 WRX - what else will fit this car in the way of a front strut brace Think I need one - any ideas? Have always had one on every car I've owned, so don't want to break the chain...

Not stressing about it (or buying a Prius, but thanks anyway...) Just wanted ideas really, alarm is alarmed and cameras are in and outside (I work in the industry, so a few perks here and there) I'll use the killswitch idea, as well as common sense obviuosly, and a good GPS setup if I can find a reasonably priced setup I can monitor and use myself.
