  1. True, but its got the logo on it.... :)
  2. Have bought off TM, $151 incl freight to Napier. Now, just gotta wait till I get the car.......
  3. Awesome, thanks for that. The search begins......
  4. Is the STi V7/8 intercooler: a) Larger b) Better flowing c) Able to be fitted to a 04 WRX without too much modification In pictures I have seen, the Sti one looks bigger, but I have never seen the 2 side-by-side or in the flesh Can anyone shed some light on this?
  5. Hmmm, expensive if a false-alarm happens...... GPS tracker on the way, so that'll be another thing to help if it ever goes wandering without permission. Extra sirens inside - hell yeah, that'll be happening too!
  6. Added to watchlist. Off-topic, but what should the chassis code be - GGA?
  7. Napier, but new car is in Auckland, so may be travelling there or to Cambridge to collect in a few weeks Can't drive cos of spinal fusion last Monday, now I've bought the car I'll go mad not being able to just fly up and get it.... Patience - something I must learn.......
  8. It will be because in 'D' the torque converter will be in lockup, meaning more of a direct drive between engine and gearbox (less slip = less revs), when you shift into 'manual' mode, it drops off the lockup and that's why your revs increase.
  9. This one? Apologies if I've stolen the pic someone on here....
  10. Cheers, the one I'm 99% sure I'm buying is White too, like yours So, you've got one of those STi carbon braces, like the one in this auction? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/sti/auction-423844183.htm Just want one really, as I say, every car I've had has got one, and I notice the difference (mostly not chewing out the edges of the tyres) Even though the earlier V5/6 ones are different mounting hole location, will they fit if I re-drill the holes?
  11. Ouch, pricey when you factor in freight Anyone on here got one that'll fit and wants to part with it?
  12. Bugger, I'm in Napier Fully capable of doing it myself, just want a good unit Anyone bought one of the ones in this thread?: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,13474.0.html
  13. Chassis code is GGA - right? Will one of these fit? :http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/suspension-braces/auction-424838977.htm Am I right that anything from 2000 (Bugeye) should be OK?
  14. Righto, 2004 WRX - what else will fit this car in the way of a front strut brace Think I need one - any ideas? Have always had one on every car I've owned, so don't want to break the chain...
  15. Not stressing about it (or buying a Prius, but thanks anyway...) Just wanted ideas really, alarm is alarmed and cameras are in and outside (I work in the industry, so a few perks here and there) I'll use the killswitch idea, as well as common sense obviuosly, and a good GPS setup if I can find a reasonably priced setup I can monitor and use myself. Thanks for all the help, looks like the car will be mine mid December!
  16. Cool, thanks for all the ideas Never thought the anti-shatter would help them, but then I don't think like that... It was a 5-star Mongoose alarm with immobiliser, will be kept in a locked, alarmed garage when home, but it's more the other times that I'll be concerned about Don't want to have a nice car then have to be checking on it every 5 minutes. Anyone recommend thru personal experience or general heresy what is a good GPS setup?
  17. Not far off getting my WRX now, wondering what you all use as security in conjunction with an alarm/immobiliser to lessen the risk of the low lifes around making off with the car or breaking in Anyone using a film on the windows that prevents them shattering?
  18. Have found a nice 04 WRX Wagon, 96km, mint condition by photos and description. Can't physically look as it's in Auckland and I'm in Napier. Known problems and issues to look out for??? Has good service from when it arrived as it has a mechanical warranty and is completely stock. Cheers all!
  19. OK, just got to track a good one down now and we're all in for a Subaru in the garage The more info I get, the better armed I am when spotting any faults Many thanks, and let the search begin.............
  20. Thanks guys, really appreciated this help Gazzy, the listing on TM even says it gets a "Full Lubrication Service Included" - must have gotten interrupted part way through refilling with oil.... Yep, car salespeoples can be scum, and fill us full of BS to buy their overpriced cars, and somethimes it's no better than buying pricately All the stuff to look out for is starting to pot me off! The centre-diff thing - in both manual and auto or just one?
  21. Yep, thanks smurf, got that one at the top of my list!
  22. I'm in Napier. Thanks for all the suggestions. What is so huge about the 100,000km service I keep seeing I know it's a cambelt/tensioner/water pump, but seeing as I can do the labour myself (and a mechanic mate...) what else do we do to it at that time? Was looking at this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=262847004 but he has not replied about why the g/box has been replaced at 90 odd k Other one is this one, but don't really want black: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/B4/auction-262769384.htm This one is almost perfect, except for the 100k svc: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/Legacy/auction-264127986.htm
