  1. thanks but na stock airbox still. No modifications to the car at all.
  2. As in the upper engine cleaner? Yeah have done that. Seemed to come on all of a sudden, not a gradual thing No engine codes.
  3. ^ Wouldn't that be affecting the car when driving tho? Drives fine still
  4. ^ what does yours idle at. I feel that my idle speed could be increased. After the shake it sometimes will stay at around 500? My plan was to increase the idle, but I read that this simple 'adjust the idle screw' is only a thing for older engines, where on modern cars it's not a good idea due to complexity of the ECU system??
  5. Hey team, (searched but found nothing just like this) My B4 Legacy, has developed random shaking when idling. Whether its in gear or in Neutral seems to make no difference. Doesnt not happen on cold starts, only once warm and stopping at lights etc, it will maybe bog down and shake once every 30seconds. Is this a misfire? Whats causing this and how can I conquer this? Cheers!!
  6. For future reference, because the subie specialist place said they'd seen it before.. brother just took it in to get rotors skimmed, asked them to check out the turbo noise. turns out a inlet tube to the primary turbo was leaking. loud whistle is gone.
  7. hmm. Should of added that it runs mint. Does an air leak always upset the idle? Could it just be leaking under boost? If it was, this would be causing it to run rich constantly wouldn't it? It Never backfires. Hmm ??? ???
  8. Been meaning to ask for a while, my brothers auto b4 just produces a really loud spooling noise when on boost, being sequential nearly every time accelerating, going up hills etc. Its bone stock. Is this just due to the smaller primary turbo or will this be an air leak? (Ive never been in another twin turbo leggy). Surely its not ment to be like this haha, to give u an idea, it sounds like those 600+ horsepower cars spooling up on the dyno. That loud but when hes just creeping up to 50km/hr haha.
  9. maybe your friend was more talking of an engine rebuild? that can be near the 6k mark
  10. would most people use geniune plugs or not? Ive got NGK iridium ones in atm.
  11. +1 was going to ring wingers today to get an idea. But seems ill have a shot at it myself now, keen!
  12. yeah bro, i would appreciate this heaps! Because i dont have the tools to jack up an engine, so if you can show us how without touching that side of it, you'd actually be the man haha. Cheers bro
  13. ....Nope. 10 mins to whup the air box and windscreen washer tank out. 5 Mins to crawl underneath and undo engine mount nuts. Then jack 'er up and have the plugs done in no time. Im with Swiftbrad, your completely missing the point that some of us arent half mechanics haha. If i was to try this. Im sure it would take a whole afternoon haha.\ When you've never done something, the lack of confidence eats time!
