  1. Nothing like that mate.30Psi for a standard subaru would be pushing it.may be im doing something wrong. When i put the foot down it dosen't seem like im doing 18 psi. So may be i should turn the boost down via the tap to the least possible --> So then may i might feel 14psi at it's full potential. I don't mind if the guy above comment who i asked me where i was located could come and check out my car and tell me where im going wrong and whether i have done something wrong.Because it sure as hell dosen't feel like 1.4 Bar when the foot's on the floor. I was also thinking of Taking out the ECU(Reseting it)For around half an hour and then putting it Back. And See what happen's then.! Don't know yet,Haven't tried. But i don't think i am leaking boost from anywhere. So yeah just hoping one of the boy's from here who has owned a subaru before can check my engine and tell me what goes where so i can run 1Bar in peace, without blowing the engine !
  2. I don't know why you assume i don't want to spend money on it,like i said i have had evo's n skylines and have spent a lot of money in the past getting the car to 20-30psi...With ease. This is my first subaru,Didn't know the concept was almost the same.
  3. Hey buddy it does have a front mount lol,Im from Auckland. And you?
  4. I have an external " TIAL " wastegate mate!
  5. But my boost controller is a manual one,So basically what your saying is keep turning it down till the tap is closed?..and let the wastegate run 14psi?..Isn't 14psi the biggest spring you can get for a wastegate anyway?.
  6. Ok,So the majority of you guys are saying run Factory Boost which is 14 Psi?..Fine ill just turn the boost all the way down, but what if i want to go faster?...Turning the boost up will just damage my engine won't it? Plus isn't getting it tuned over a Grand anyways? That's way to expensive. So you guys reckon 14psi with a 14 psi Spring for the waste gate is fine? Then that's what i will do. Although if i do get a bigger turbo? It dosen't mean that i necessarily have to get a bigger wastegate as well right? What if i just get a bigger waste gate now? Will i feel more boost at 14psi? Plus i also want to get an aftermarket fuel pump.It should help as well right? Can you guy's send me a link or something from trade me,and tell me if it's a good 1...Im guessing a 500Hp Walbro??
  7. So what do you reckon i do mate?get a bigger turbo?...so it's not harsh on the engine or?...what about getting a Tdo6 or somewhere along the line's of a Garret.. What do you guys reckon? Let me know,Before i blow my damm engine at 21Psi and a 14 Pound waste gate spring. What's the highest wastegate spring you can buy in the market?20 psi? Let me know,Cheers!
  8. Hey guys for some reason the minimum boost i am running is 1Bar,Apparently the last owner said that the wastegate has a 14 pound spring.i haven't opened up the waste gate to check.. If i turn the boost up on the "Turbosmart" boost Controller just a little it goes all the way up to 1.4 Bar,Is that Good for my engine?Running such high boost with just a TD05H.. Therefore im wondering whether i should get a bigger turbo?.How about a Vf28?Is that little bigger than the Td05?OR?..I think the Version 5's use that turbo,Im just a 96 Wrx Wagon! This is my first subaru so im a little lost when it comes to These Turbo's..Let me know what i can do to go a little faster and whether it's safe to run 1.4 Bar with a td05H Turbo. You guys reckon i should put a bigger spring in the wastegate? Cheers Guys, Have a nice week Ahead!
  9. Hey guys Just wondering..When i was cleaning my wastegate today along with the dump pipe and flange i noticed there's a hole with nothing on the top of it. In my previous car that hole had a Bolt Bolted on there to adjust it. Is it ok if that bolt is not there?Or do i have to Have it there?.. Plus the bottom of the wastegate (Vaccum) is attactched to the boost tap, But since the top does not have a Bolt,(when looking at my mates car his Bolt,On the top(Vaccum Line) is attactched to his Electronic boost controller) And mine's Connected to nothing as the bolt's missing. Should i do something about it? Or leave it the way it is? Hope i am not causing any damage to the turbo, let me know guys, Cheers Uwa8nc!!! 8)
  10. Just cleaned the inside of the Bov with WD40,bit of tension on the spring but there was no problem,Taking it apart.I would say there's still a very little Compression Surge but the Bov has gone so much Louder,But thanks alot guys. The info was good!
  11. hahaha Nice pic buddy, ill give it a try, thanks guys! Just hope that new bov Arrives tommorow !
  12. so you reckon even though i put the new bov that i just bought there,it won't fix the issue?
  13. yea mate it's a blitz look alike .. but not an original. I have only had the car for 3 months. but it's only been playing up in the last week or so.. i have never opened up a bov before.thought there would be alot of tension on the spring to put it back so i never bothered. You guys reckon i should open it up and give it a clean or, unwind and wind the screw to get the tension right?
  14. the Vaccum hoses are all fine,so you reckon i should unbolt the bov open it up and check the spring out? I just bought one of those HKS type Bov's just waiting for it to arrive, may be putting a new bov on there would fix the problem, well let's hope so. I just hope the Bov i have at the moment hasn't mucked up the turbo in anyway!
  15. But im not a pro at the hand's on stuff, but from the pic's and info there ill give it my best.(Finger's crossed)!
  16. ok i know what you guys mean. Well firstly when i am between 2,000 and 4,000 rev's and i let go of the gas i get a Flutter sound. So that's how i am preety sure its a compressor surge.. as the sound come's out first from the POD Filter and then from the BOV.... Read on a few other forum's that it's a compressor surge which is : Compressor surge is a condition caused, generally when a car with a turbo has a BOV that fails (or no BOV at all). When the driver slams the throttle plate shut, there is still compressed air in the charge pipe. The turbo, however, has no power to spin, b/c theres no load on the motor ( ~0-5% TPS) so theres no exhaust. This causes there to be more pressure on the turbocharger to backspin than spin in a forward direction. Can any one relate to this from having a similar issue?
  17. That's a nice post buddy,Thanks alot. I'll do my best to do it by myself.Hope i don't stuff it up. Cheer's though,Much appreciated !
  18. The bov work's fine, how would i know if it's seized? And i don't have a Video. Just asking if any one know's what's wrong!
  19. Hey guys planning on buying a new Fuel Pressure Regulator soon, What's a good Brand? And what's the easiest way of installing these? Can i do it myself or take it a specialist? Let me know.Cheers. Buy - D1spec,Holley,Sard Or Tomei, buying a non branded one (would not cause any damage would it)???
  20. Hey guys i bought a subaru wrx impreza wagon around 3 months ago,but for some reason in the last week between 8 - 12 psi of boost there's a lot of air coming out from the Pod filter and then from the bov. Im guessing there is a surge of some sought,So i took it to RSL Racing and Ronnie told me to undo the bolt a bit on the Look-alike (BLITZ BOV)..And so i did but it hasn't made a difference. What Could be the issue? Should i Buy a new BOV Or? Can some one please tell me what i could do.So i could get the turbo's full potential. Cheers!
