  1. just an update...this brumby is still for sale as it seems all supporters are in the south island?? Sorry DRFVDR aside. Anyhow, i have the spare light now, which is in good knick, and the brumby needs to go. im open to offers, looks like im going to take a hit on this if i want it gone...its taking up the best park in the carport where my other daily brumby should be!! BTW, if anyone is keen on a soft tonneau, i got this guy in aux to make a PRIMO one a few weeks back, real straight, with good thick crossbar and a smart wee pull-tab design to allow it to be removed from the track below the window. he put snap locks on velcro across the angled wellsides to keep the tonneau tight and water from going into the forward corners of the tray. Even protected the paint from the alloy holes for the bungy with extra layer. All this for a tidy 200bux. nearest quote to that was 350! So holla if anyone wants the guys shop number. Im well stoked with the price and the tonneau... will post a pic shortly.......
  2. and if ur looking for a cheap brumby GEN1 for that conversion.....I GOT ONE I NEED TO LET GO OF http://s704.photobucket.com/albums/ww44/octopusenvy/?action=view&current=brumby.jpg&newest=1
  3. very nice rx....but im confuddled. u want the brumby and cash for the rx? and i still dont know where u are...brumby in aux tho we do have a shipping system (albeit expensive). what about selling the rx to that dude who said "sell it to me!" then buying the brumby? i know for you this brumby is a piece of cake to get stylish. Everything working, little to no rust, even throw in a canopy for the newer brumby;) so again where are you located? oh and since ur admin, is there any reason why the pix in the beginning of this thread were "deleted by admin"?? if its a space issue, no worries... chur
  4. oh and i assume theres no warrant/rego aye...
  5. haha fair enuf. u got a pic or somethin? here wud b gud....couldnt say without seeing honestly.
  6. howsit DRFVDR, cheers for the offer, hey where are you? and what do you reckon your RX11 is worth? truthfully i really need to just have the space (dont have a huge shed like you!) but you never know...
  7. oh yeah? id b keen as for one of them, wanna make2? maybe keep the mold for the size, if ur using fiberglass, press another one? i dont need air rams, just a stick will do, so long as it cud lock! otherwise i have to buy a soft tonneau, which is ok, but not fully secure...
  8. i think you'd b quite lucky to find these...but best of luck. ive seen the brumby/brat that XTsubbie was talking about...pretty mint...pretty expensive, if u can even find one. he's seen the pics i sent him, but its a real nice brat, one of a kind in nz id say. no roll bar, but TUF DEK liner, which is pretty damn useful for avoiding rust in the tray! im about to get a dude to whip up a soft tonneau, as i cant seem to source one elsewhere. if anyone knows of one going....id even consider a trade for a canopy (have a spare). cheers.
  9. hey all, thanks for the posts and the complements. she's a great lil ute. got some ideas, but been flat out working at sea so no time ashore to do anything! amazing how many subi owners past and present recognise the brumby, wave, honk or stop me already! will post comments or changes or pics as they occur...
  10. easy tiger.. not usually many foly up at 2.15 in the morning, its done now Thanks for that! I wasnt expecting immediate action, just hoping eventual action. turns out you're quick az! And i do understand the comment about space = money, which does make sense. ill consider using links, but it is still quicker and easier to just take the pics then upload small sized ones. Cheers guys.
  11. all in all a good buy at 3g, dont u think? The $5500, 1992brat isnt really for sale, though the guy may try later on. It was a lot of dosh for me, too much, though it was a nice one. [attachment deleted by admin]
  12. more pix [attachment deleted by admin]
  13. interior is mint, aside from tearing in drivers seat. will either replace or put seat covers on, but its comfortable enough. No rust in the floor, its been rustproofed.... [attachment deleted by admin]
  14. more ( WILL THE MODERATOR PLEASE MAKE THESE APPEAR???!!) [attachment deleted by admin]
  15. more pix... [attachment deleted by admin]
  16. Gday subbie owners and wanabes, finally im the owner of a cracker brumby. Was keen on another, think its the nicest i seen (it was actually a brat!), but this one was a bargain and that one wasnt (2700bux more, nearly double the price!). Anyhow, thought id flick up some pix. Im keen to do a wheel conversion, as i have good multifit 4stud rims, but its quite the hassle. Might sell those and find a good set of 15s...but wud prefer my 17s. This brumby is pretty mint. The body has some stone chips, but no rust...none. Nearly all moldings and rubber are not only there but in great shape (most replaced when repainted 3yrs ago). The engine has had a complete rebuild, new water and oil pump, new rings, pistons, bearings, belts, wiring, etc. New cv joints front and rear. 3 of 4 new tyres, 4th is good. Came with a decent canopy, which i hope to make a mint one from it and the one i have. Just drove it 7hrs back home, went sweet the whole time. Got 480kms out of 40lt, so 11km/ltr, not bad for driving 100-110. Now looking for a tonneau hard or soft for the tray along with another set of rims. The odometer reads 243000, but it drives like 2430. Thinking to lift 2inches (i think u can lift them individually on each wheel, says the manual?), put spots and possibly a smaller bullbar on, which i have. So comment away, always interested in opinions and suggestions ;D... [attachment deleted by admin]
  17. speaking of rims... wondering if anyone knows of a conversion from this standard subaru 4stud (wide) pattern to the more modern 4stud (closer together). got a mint set of 17in rims and tyres in 4stud/multi fit (100 or 114.5), would love to put on my new brumby! Is it possible or is there an adapter plate available? Ive seen 17s on a brumby b4, so i know its possible. cheers for any help!
  18. Hey waimaks, i know you would look after her, and have plenty of spares. Stop being sensible like DRFVDR said. If you email me, i might let it go at a slight loss to you mate, if that makes it any easier. I assume you're in the south island also, which is a big pain. I might be able to help somehow to get it to you? Lets talk...
  19. Thanks for the help guys, least now its all up here in case any1 is interested. yeah two pics are from last year, two from last week. Again, id happily take her off the market if someone knows someone in auckland who is good at respraying, and not expensive! Also, the respray is not because the car needs it, but id prefer a car that isnt "tan". Otherwise least there are some pics up and carjam link can show people the odometer is accurate. Its showing a hair over 100,000 now. Awesome.
  20. i noticed that the pics i loaded had to be approved by an administrator...perhaps they having a much desereved weekend away from the computer. hopefully they will show up soon, but i got pics to waimak. anyone else wana look? i got the 1980 brumby on TM again, but dunno how long for, b4 they axe it again!
  21. here's another of the engine bay and the interior. the drivers seat bottom end is a bit torn up, but otherwise its in decent shape for nearly 30yrs old...just needs a tidy which i will do this wknd. any other pics required or questions, just fire away. If anyone is in auckland and keen to help with the makeover (i.e. good paintjob), that wud be cool, but i kinda doubt it...all the good brumbys and supporters seem to be south island. [attachment deleted by admin]
  22. Good spotting crew, that WAS my ute. its stil available, but TM didnt exactly like me selling it as parts, so removed it, he he. if u want pics, ive included here (i think). Its still for sale even though im still looking for a newer brumby with targa tops. If only i could do a proper paint, this ute would be amazing. Drives fine. Hope she finds a good home where a proper restore will happen. I have a letter from the last registered owner (required to reregister) who hopes the same. Let me know if anyone is interested, thanx. [attachment deleted by admin]
  23. yeah thanx. bout time we up and runnin again. so yeah, hope there's a buyer out there. love the ute, just think i need more practical newer tt version for daily commuting. tho it will look MINT if someone paints it and throws some goodies at her. if u kno anyone.....
  24. gday all, i bought an old school 1980 subaru brumby, in fetching tan colour, planning to restore it. decided i need the practicality of a newer one, though this one kills it on looks with the double bug-eyes. anyhow, i just want what i paid, which was 800, and its all go and running. drove it straight 3hrs and it was fine at 100, not loud at all. there is suprisingly little rust on her, and she has had a pre-wof suggesting the light be fixed (i have a new one arriving shortly). also the handbrake needed adjustment. So its a bargain, you can be the 2nd registered owner! holla at me with any questions...
