But the second one is a non branded, surprisingly cheap bov.

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-792790315.htm

this should bolt straight on right. Did you buy yours from trade-me or a performance store? Let me know, cheers.

I am using the same el cheapo one, I think I only paid $50 plus postage. The plan was to change it but it hasnt given me a problem so its still there.

Kiwi Fozze will give you better advice on whether atmo venting is right for you, my setup is very different to yours, v5 WRX, v7 STI Intercooler, Link ECU etc. etc.

  2. I have used them around the country for a number of oil changes on various cars with no issues. The above is very true its just a fluid change at a decent price, dont expect anymore (Although there is a couple of places that go the extra mile).

But if your in a hurry and know what your getting I reckon there ok.

Its just blow by oil build up from the engine breathers. Give the pipes and IC a good clean out and look into installing an oil catch can. A can of Subaru upper cylinder cleaner will clean the inside of the intake manifold.

Where is the best place to buy Upper engine cleaner nowadays? Cant find any on trademe. Is it something dealers stock?

No worries - indeed 10% meth added directly into the tank (assuming the fuel pipework and FPR has been selected for meth resistance as is the case here) adds huge potential for extra ignition advance. I prefer this approach over the extra hassle, weight and failure risk of a meth/water injection system ;)

Super dumb question probably but you literally just 40l of fuel and dump 400 Mils of Meth in the tank as well?

And do you run seperate fuel maps in case you cant add meth?

No they have normal head/park lights. Those Luxury Sports guards are just a bad design and look crap.

Try Mike Shaw Fibreglass in Hamilton, he does a really nice fitting 22b kit to suit the 4 door.

Thanks Tony, I will follow that up.

Got most of my bits and pieces together now btw so hoping to get the car dropped out to you guys to get a few bits put on and for a tune in the next few months.

  6. Do 22B have wider headlights and/or parklights to fill the gap the wider guards make or is that gap you see on a lot of cars with fiberglass 22B guards a side affect of ****ty copied guards?

I like the idea of having some 22B guards but the OCD in me wont let me have a dirty big gap by the parklight... I will struggle enough at the gap by the door.

They saved money going through a mortgage broker? Really??!! From my understanding, If you go through a mortgage broker it's a lot more expensive due to broker fees and also in the end when you do get approved the interest rate is through the roof. I suppose I should go see one and see where i stand. Can any recommend a decent one that does not charge an arm and a leg?

Kiwi Foz i assume your talking about property investment as opposed to buying your first house. That is another option I should consider.

As STI4sale said no charge. Well I cant speak for all but I know I'm pretty sure it cost them nothing... Maybe a small fee less than $100 to show they werent wasting anyones time.

The biggest hurdle they faced was there age, being both extremely young they were getting doors slammed in there faces left and right despite having a solid plan and deposit. The broker was amazing, the interest rate she got them was lower than the advertised rate for that bank in the end.

You could fit a WAIC. After all, The cooler the air the higher the Hp, Duration of required high Hp is the real consideration. This must also be calculated against heat transfer efficiency and recovery period duration as well obviously.

20- 30 seconds of WOT and sustained 270+ Kw will sure as get you Mooovin!!(In any gear!)

  9. I have almost pulled the trigger a few times now, I no longer fit young home buyer I guess at 27.

However my sister and her partner purchased there house at 19 and 20 respectively, crazy stuff but they got a good opportunity on a well priced house in a regional town. Because they had been saving for a couple of years (Again crazy I know) they went to a mortgage broker and got an exceptional fixed rate for a Minimal cost through ASB with a 20%ish deposit.

The biggest thing I took from there whole experience is how much money they saved using a Mortgage broker and how many doors it opened. Eventhough they had all there ducks in a row banks wouldn't have a bar of them until the broker got involved.

  10. Good info, thanks gents, I am not to concerned about the piping on the kits as I will probably have a mate fabricate me something custom for the piping.

I will definitely be going bar and plate.

Yeah Kris he is making that but I expect to make less. From what I know his engine was built for the turbo and probably had some decent $$$ spent on it. Mines just a forged CDB with stock v5 heads.

Boon are you running an aftermarket TMIC? I have a v7 STI one atm but I dont think I could fit an aftermarket one in there. The v7 STI is a pretty tight fit as it is.
