Sounds a little bit bullshity TBH. 170 and didn't lose his license?
I never said license I said car. But he did drive off on the day and tell the cop to post him a ticket... I doubt you or I would get away with that at that speed.

NZ Herald do inch closer to satire everyday but sadly this particular joke begins and ends with the courts.

Given old mate down south the other day told the cops to shove it and drove off after being clocked at circa 170 when he was warned for speeding minutes before and didn't lose his car in court even, I reckon you would be hard done by to lose your car.
I mean the laws the law and all but yeah...

This is the usual set up I go for because its cheap and it does exactly what I want (except for the amp - I usually go for an earthquake amp but it was out of stock everywhere)
1x Pioneer GM-D9601 Mono Amp - 24000w max @ 1ohm - 1200wrms @ 1ohm (I'll be running my setup on 1ohm)
2x cheap 12" Pioneer TS-W311D4 subs (4ohm Dual voice coil) (1400w max - 400wrms each)
1x cheap set of pioneer components for the front doors TS-G1605C
1x 4gauge kicker amp wiring kit (their wiring kits are so nice - some of the best wiring I've used)
I have an existing pair of jvc coax 6.5's for the rear doors that I have had sitting around for a while
This will all be running off the factory headunit initially (kenwood unit)
Whats that cost approx if you dont mind me asking? I know how to install stuff but dont really know (or care tbh) whats really good. I just want a nice sound.

Involve both mate, Clubsub is changing and involvement with other clubs is a good thing for us IMO.

Also why are cusco roll cages crap, surely a car with one of them is going to be a bit stronger in a roll over than one without?
To be fair I wouldnt get in any car with a bolt in cage regardless of brand. A bolt is significantly less strong than a good weld and from the moment it pops out in a crash or roll over your basically in a blender with a steel bar.

So it doesnt really matter how long the discussion runs neither of your c*cks are going to grow any longer. Nobodys winning here today.

Cant say I really rate the STI Strut braces, the two I have had my hands on at times seemed to be literally glued together
My solid steel Cusco one seemed much more likely to help to me.

I strongly dislike the number of "Special Edition" Subarus out there. I cant say I would pay more for anything stock or close to outside of a 22B, Coupe or an STI less than 10 years old over a plan old WRX.

Agreed, the 04s seem to be a but cheaper again but the 05 has nicer lines I think. Looks to be a bit of a facelift or cross over year. I think I will take one for a test drive.
Looks sick in black as well I reckon.

Yeah no denying they are expensive little monsters but it wouldn't be a daily so not too concerned as hopefully kms wont go up much. The WRX did more kms over the Flatnats weekend than it has the previous 2 years combined.
And yup reserve not met Loren, trying to work out what there truly worth.

All i know is you should own one once. F***ing expensive to fix is the other thing i know.
Yup expensive as fark to fix, sen that in person with a few colleagues and mates.
Just realized this isnt the Trademe thread btw, sorry OP wasnt trying to steal your thread. Will see if I can move it

Anyone know much about these Audis?

Pretty keen to know faults, weaknesses etc. especially if anyones had personal experience.

Had, he sold it before going overseas recently I am pretty sure. Was certainly up for sale at a cheap price.

Always the way sadly, someone has to wear the travel factor.

Night cruise kind of freaks me out. It brings up FnF images in my head and wanna race g type stuff. If handled appropiately and authorities notified its a damn sound idea tho.
Puke is a bit of a C*** iirc ray knows more. Long way from wellies and SI was my thought.
We have done Night cruises in the past, has to be pretty strictly kept in check but it can be done. Mystery cruise with a set leader is the key in my experience.
Shame about Puke, I have done Motorsport in Auckland 2 out of 3 days with Taupo in the middle and it was a real slog. I guess I would hope if people are going to make the trek to Taupo for a single day 3 days in a closer environment wouldn't be too big of an ask.
But to be fair I would roll out for it either way ha ha.

Im kind of thinking along the lines of the following:
Day 1 Friday
Merermere dragstrip side by side timed potentially a grass/gymkhana alongside.
Day 2 Saturday
Trackday potentially Taupo but disregard location at present.
Day 3 Sunday
Mass meet/dynoday/BBQ/photo shoot at PBMS.
I like this, but its a lot of kms for some. Get to Auckland, not really a lot of accommodation near Meremere, haul to Taupo is a decent one from Auckland or even Hamilton and then back to PBMS next day.
As suggested above Puke might be a better choice for track, stay in South Auckland or even Pukekohe and cut out a few hundred KMs. Could even do a mystery cruise one night for those who wants to rack up the miles or may not be so keen on a Motorsport event?

Ran it for about 3 years almost exclusively and had no issues, Im now about 5 years removed from my first use and fuel lines are still fine.

I made the comment wondering that earlier J-rod
None of this changes my objection to the post, its provocative and sarcastic for the sake of it. I am a firm believer sarcasm has its place but I am sure if I rewrote the post just a little and used a race, religion, gender or name with the associated stereotypical notion about said sector of society the world would be in an uproar. However as its aimed at "Car Enthusiasts" its not a big issue right?
That all said as I am sure all of you who know me well enough know I dont associate with any of that dodgy stuff. My cars legit and I have been repping the club banner well at cruises, meets and especially track stuff for years. The next few days will be no different

Perhaps, seemed pretty openly sarcastic to me and I'm a guy that always backs the Police.
I do wonder what else is going on in the CNI however, seems like a lot of trouble to go to for a handful of Subaru nuts going to a couple of track events.
-
Looks like a few made the last crossing tonight, feel sorry for the poor buggers who planned to travel from the SI tomorrow. Us guys from up north have been promised a nice warm welcome by the CNI Police. I am a guy who backs the Police 100% at all times but there lovely informative post feels pretty cynical to me

Oil change today, pads, rotors and brake fluid yesterday. Also worked out one of my wheels was slightly out of round causing a bloody annoying shake in the steering wheel. All ready to go for the weekend now.

Is Subaru NZ even aware of the BTCC campaign or have they become pushers of boring cars to cardigan wearers like Mitsubishi ?
This I think.
