This may be a dumb question but if you cut something and the cert guy isnt happy can you weld it back in and get a cert?

+1 for Dtech, excellent reputation and a Club member works there.

Weekend driver to the shops and back plus trackday warrior for me. Formerly my daily.

Shared it on a few FB enthusiast pages. But sad reality is if it was planned it could well be someone on those pages anyway. Very ****ty tbh.
But lets remember Joe got his Legacy back after it was seen being transported so who knows.

The old atom couldnt run a v5/6. My plug in g4 has no spare slots now and i dont run ac. Havent looked at the g4+ but was sure it still couldnt run a v5. Idle stepper is 4 for a start. Could swap mani etc but again its more money.
Have you put an expanded loom on it? That was about 4 outputs from memory on my one.

And can you tell the difference when you are driving between a cheapish tyre and a higher end one? Sorry only have Ovations on mine, cost $140 each.
I was never a tyre snob but I always put nice tyres on my nice cars. I brought a second hand set of rims with no name rubber on them and yes the difference was very noticable to me and I am no Schumacher. After two days I had to swap back and those tyres are sitting on a shelf waiting to be destroyed in a skid pan somewhere.

Do v4 have a Airbag? My v5 does.
-
I had to remove my fmic for a wof coz of airbag. Coz car was going for cert anyway i made a few phone calls and found out i could remove my airbag if car was older then 14 years. Had to change steering wheel and make a new button for horn etc and remove airbag bulb from behind dash.
Is that a moving target 14 years or pre a certain year? If its a moving target I will probably remove my Airbag on my v5 when I get my Cert.

Well I'm keen to convoy. Will pay my track spot next Monday on payday.
Im keen to trailer mine. Just need to see if I can gank the old mans truck that weekend
If you gents get a convoy together let me know. I am all paid and will be travelling down from Hamilton. Not sure if driving the WRX or towing it behind our (yet to be purchased) Legacy.

How long will a gearbox be ok sitting filled with oil and not fitted to a car? Do they need to be turned regularly or anything? I have had a spare in the garage for probably close to 3 years now lol.

We've invited 'boy racers' to club events before and been
a) deafened by the silence of the 99% not turning up and
b) the 1 or 2 that turn up thinking they hav sum skilz, show their skills are not even average, and never turn up again to improve
I am super late to this party but I see this a lot. As some of you know I work in Pizza so lots of young guys with nice cars in my line of work, some smart some not so much. I reckon of the 20 or so I have got to go to a track or drag day only 2 have stayed at it the rest went back to probably doing dumb stuff each weekend instead.
You see it on the Facebook groups a lot to, everyones a street racing god but the room goes silent when someone mentions a trackday, everyones "Not quite finished there project" or cars "Not running right" or my personal favorite "If only I had known earlier!" when you have been pushing it for months.
A good portion of those guys who do the stupid crap that tars all the younger guys will never ever consider truly moving to the track. They do the weekend stuff for the thrill of being a bad boy/girl, the sluts and most importantly instant gratification. In this day and age no one waits for anything, so why wait a week or so to go out and hit a track when you can go be a hero this weekend and if you get caught its the Police fault. You go online and find a ready and willing community of asshats waiting to sympathize with you for your stupidity.
****ty world view for sure but it is what it is and its very hard to change.

Lol. Fuel conservation and trip time threads are worse than oil threads. Do it fast and comfortably or do it economically, choose one forget the other.
+1 for Paraparas... But the 35 kmh signs will stop being significant after a few runs through.

Scoobydoo, after you sold that it lived near me in Hamilton for a while. It was so sad to see it rolled bowled and assholed in person after seeing so many excellent photos of it popping up on here under your ownership.

V8 STI intercooler into a GC8. Not exactly unique but not a ton of them about.

Nah I literally just got back from the U.S. this morning and have been given a promotion/transfer so there probably on the back burner again. I have to be residing in Auckland by the end of July so I will make a decision then on if I proceed with it all before Flat Nats. Got all the parts just dont want to bog myself down with a half finished build I have to tow while we move.
Got 2 weeks off yet so might do some of the cooling bits while I am off because there simple enough.
I thought I heard you had some problems at the recent trackday, nothing to serious I hope?
