  1. Another misinterpreted thread with Loner kicking it off with his narcissistic posting tendencies.

Gator already stated it will not be tracked; so pointless doing the "which is best material for motorsport" argument.

As for on the road; that\'s really driver dependent.

I went for the Penrite 10W-50 before my track day. Is great stuff, saw minor improvements over the 10W-40. I chose it over the 5W because I don\'t have a baffled sump and the added lubrication is beneficial. I used Penrite fluids all round their gearbox oils make a world of difference!

    What improvements did you see?

  3. Consider what sort of wet weather performance you want.

If your prepared to drive sensibly in the wet; Then consider a max performance summer tire. In this respect then I would recommend Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 (or something like).

On the road, You shouldn\'t legally see the dry grip limit with the AD08\'s etc but would do well on track before a dot rated semi.

I\'ve driven on a number of different branded Max performance summer tires - RE01-R, RE-11, Advan AD07\'s Ad08\'s and Dunlop Z1 star spec. All were compromised in the wet, but not dangerous.

I currently use RE002 which i bought recently, as the car spends more time commuting than a spirited drive which is near impossible to find in Auckland.

  4. I\'m no expert, but with a lighter flywheel reducing parasitic loss; I would imagine Power and Torque would increase.

You will not lose HP or Torque.

The main consideration with a Lightweight Flywheel, is the difference it makes in a daily driver situation.

Hill starts or any incline will be difficult and increase the possibility of spinning up the clutch.

I have a 5.3kg billet flywheel in mine, it\'s been one of my favorite modifications thus far, but I will say this; you may curse having it due to the issues above.

If you don\'t go stupid on it\'s weight then overall you won\'t notice any drawbacks.

    They do.

I had the standard WAIC originally and we also had a rally car making 210kw with one.

But the problem was that it would only make that sort of power for a short time before heatsoaking the whole lot. Was perfectly fine when used on the streets as you\'d be hard pressed to keep it under enough load for long enough to overheat the lot. But it sucked on the rally car.

I\'ve made the same point before somewhere in the recesses of this site.

Even on the street - real world - stop start traffic. Will be less efficient by the time you want to put your foot down.

ecu logs or gtfo :P (goes for max km/h as well).

ok ok right, so context. when i see 300wkw ej20, ej22\'s that are tuned with sufficiently sized snails that are tuned for a 7300rpm red line, by where even on these builds the torque well in truly downward sloping on the TQ curves and shift points are set @ 7k, while being used in closed event applications..

why the need to beat a poor factory motors with modest curves to WELL beyond its sensible limits? /serious question.

I don\'t think Kamineko was stating 13,000rpm as fact; so I\'m not sure what the hard on is all about.

Just out of interest, has your car seen a "closed event" since it\'s rebuild?

I think the 4g63 engine is a lot more robust than the ej20, easier to get power from for cheaper by what I have read in the magazines and online. Don\'t have any personal experience of modding them though. I dont dislike evos but i just prefer the styling on the subaru.

In saying that i always said I would never own an impreza but there you are, I do now after driving one. Never driven an evo.

    /quote]

yeah that part can\'t be argued evo engines are generally more robust than sti engines. one exception is the evo 4 engine, been told these are not great.

Cast iron blocks up until the new design 4B11.

And one head with 10 head studs for clamp. As opposed to two small heads with 6.

OH OOps! sorry about the brake boost comment.................BUT you are still WRONG.........The place you suggest is NO good either.

ANY time YA like ..............Gloves off or on.................Gloves on make it easier to kill.................Thats a fact.!

I just dont suffer fools..................And idiot comments just wind me up.

AND you did suggest using the brake boost hose in your first post on this topic...........BUT changed your mind to an equally stupid location.

Humor me; what do you mean by "gloves on make it easier to kill?"
