You\'ll have to be more descriptive in regards to the power drop off. Without driving it; it hard to diagnose.
Assuming it still runs a VF10 or VF8.
It should pull cleanly to 6000rpm at which point you\'ll feel like your flogging it.
At 5000rpm onwards does it just feel asthmatic or is it a much more pronounced drop off? As if it becomes Normally aspirated?

Is it a manual or auto?

They are 18x8 I don\'t know the offset but it would be somewhere around +30. Also made of magnesium.
You couldn\'t fit those specific rims. They feature a smaller hub centre. They could be machined out though.
A better choice would be a replica made by Revolution Wheels 18x8 +48.

These were fitted to the second car in the above thread. I think Stoffa may have posted a picture of the same car in another thread.

Looking good stira. Split spoke design works on your Type R.
Stoffa, I feel sorry for you. You seem obsessed with getting your car "right" all that down time with your car off the road, gave you too much time to think.

Yep I think your right, but the expensive stuff is out of the way, just fine tuning from here, I think haha.
At least im not paying someone to do all the fluffing around, and its still daily driven
I know how you feel is all. Hope it works out.

I was kicking myself for missing out on yours, but i think the same. Now that they are on the car they actually look quite good. Pretty happy.
I would have held them for you no worries. Never mind I think these suit it better. They look in good nick. If they are rubbing now they would have with the 225\'s.

Maybe to help people identify current owner and entice them to join the forums?
Who says that mentioning anyone\'s ethnicity is always derogatory?
Bigger question is why does Tauranga needs a Tissot stockist?!?!
I\'m sure mentioning they are Indian will help narrow it down.
It isnt always derogatory no. Just like my comment doesnt necesarily mean thats what i think.
You came to that conclusion.

A VOS chip goes bloody well in a stockish RS, available from RSliberty forum.
Heaps of R & D and would use any day of the week over one of those \'other\'chips.
Seconded.
Subypower, I currently have one in my RA, suits intake and exhaust modifications and a stock Turbo upgrade if you\'ve done one.

.
All I wanna know is will a fully synthetic 5w-40 Valvoline be ok? I don\'t wanna know the finer details etc, lol.
I\'m not sure why you asked in the first place.
Have a look in your vehicle specific workshop manual and go buy the best oil recommended at that viscosity.
Instead you asked the question on here and got everybody\'s mostly unqualified answers/opinions.
Unless the car has been extensively modified at the engine; then there\'s no need to second guess the manufacturer.
This whole thread needs to be junked.

Pm scottspeed about them.
I used them in my engine based on his opinion.

Tamper proof screws is what they are called. Try Hammer hardware.

why waste money on a chip.
if you wana get it running ok
simply run a vacum line from your turbo down to the bootom port of yor wastegate, get rid of the boost tap as there are s***.
whatever size spring you have inside, thats what psi you will be at.
a doubt a vf8 will be able to handle 16psi.if it can it wouldn be for very long.
lol my car?mate my car is running like a dream to let you know, thanks for asking muppet
why waste money on something that doesnt need to be done!his standard ecu will be fine!
his car feels slow and runs like s***.
1st thing and (cheapest) thing would to be remove the tap and run a vac line from wastegate to turbo!and see what it runs on there.
a vf8 is a common upgrade for a mazda gtx and iv seen a few blow on 15psi easy.
but go ahead i was giving simple advice on how to get his car running and get a good base start
but ignorint people like you cant keep there mouths shut
so take bc5ra advice buy a "chip:" i garentee your call will run like s***
Given that you probably weren't born back in 89, I don't think you could speak of plain bearing IHI VF8's and their strengths, Unless your talking about the shot units being put on manky GTX's.
I'd say there's a large number of guys on here who have run up to and over 1 bar on a VF8, probably on an RS or GT in the past/present.

Perhaps you should get your own car running properly first before you start giving advice, eh cabbage.
Humor me, Explain why you think its a waste of money for a chip?
Whats your experiences with VF8's etc?

Its all the same s*** though every year. Fresh paint chromes and bling. What aboou changing it up and doing something like blazd has....massive sack on mean camber. Hella flush or whatever the f*** it is.
I hate going to the car shows and seeing cars that are only show cars. I wanna see cars that a road going monsters that the guy drives every day.
You want to see road cars with massive camber like blazd owns?
What do you think will happen when he has to pull up all of a sudden with such a small amount of rubber contact?
Best it stays off the road.

First, I wouldn't listen to anybody's advice who has so far posted in the thread.
Second, I'd look into a Chip upgrade. Most of these will raise target boost pressure to around 14-16psi.
-
The second number is the viscosity at a standard operating temperature and is rated by how long it takes a standard amount of oil to flow through a standard orifice at a standard temperature (to quote Wikipedia).
So a particular 10w60 oil "may" be able to handle higher temps better than a particular 10w40 but it is still going to be thicker than the 10w40 at normal temps. This may not cause an issue at all, and is up to the end user as to whether they want to use it or not.
Agreed, and in my mind a 10w60 could pump up the lifters. A personnel choice/recommendation specific to the car.

Sounds like it needs to have an overhaul.
Poor maintenance can lead to various and similar issues. When this has been dealt with then you can start to properly diagnose.
