i just want to try it, as i can get the parts for free. and i have quite alot of time on my hands.

masturbation is only 5 times per day, and that only takes 5 minutes. so i have some cool s*** to do like a new twin scroll turbo and up pipe/dp intercooler piping and probably do a flash oil cooler/filter combo too..( JUST SO MY BLOCK DOESNT CATCH THE BITS OF METAL)

Well you will have plenty of Kebab action after that mod, The new prince of the local Assyrian club.

^ unless it has a monster tacho.

Any gearbox is breakable. Fastfour demonstrated that the almighty diamond-plated 6MT can also die a horrible, painful death.

And let's face it. If you DO drive like it's not yours, an AWD car is going to chew drivetrain components. Some are just either older, or more fragile, than others. There's a weakest link somewhere in the chain.

In Fastfours case it was a component failure. You don't see the like of stripped gear clusters.

I dropped yellows in my BF with an ECU marked H3, it has a pink sticker (STI?) and they perfom beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say go for it, you cant kill an engine from over/under fuelling it so why not try? You mave however need to re-tune your IAC and TPS to match the new gas input... if it blows smoke drop the gas you use back down to 91oct, I run 91 in my s/w and have blitzed a few homo's homies in rex's out my ways!!! always fun.... ;)

Between you and Liquid ice, you could revolutionize the way Subaru's are modified.

true but they generally have lower kms ( the one i had on gt had done 84.000km as opposed to 224,000 km on the vf-8)

if your after power gain go with the td-05h16g

A consideration if your VF8 needs replacing. Still not an upgrade.

Any VF series single scroll Turbo can be easily adapted to an RS, rather than a crusty old TD ::)

the factory v2 sti is rated at 202kw, 180kw atw isn't too far from that, so surely it's doable. i would have thought relativly easily given it will be dumping in more fuel than expected with the bigger injectors so i can push in more air than expected without det. do you think it would just retard the timing rather than make more power?

I've known of those numbers with a similar setup, but I would have it run up on a dyno and tuned via boost control. 180kw@wheels would be 300 crank HP.

I would say it's not a ideal way to get those figures.

If it were me I'd stick with the Possum link and look for a VF34 or 28/24/29

what does BC5RA mean by many people turn up without preparing there car for dyno tune...what do i need to do before it goes in for a tune to save me money $$$

Just too add to what Boostcut posted.

But even just the basics. Because lets face it people are stupid.

    Ensure a full fuel level,

    Tire pressures checked,

Basic maintenance procedures have been performed, and then prepare to watch your car fanged periodically through the rev range in a static position.
