  1. Well, I ended up getting the shocks revalved. After sending up all 4 to Autolign in Auckland, turns out only the front shocks can be rebuilt (and revalved). Apparently my rear shocks were OK but my fronts needed rebuilding.

After getting the fronts rebuilt and revalved to soften and the car back on the road, my experience was that "it made a small difference but certainly not worth what I paid" (ended up costing me around $1200 all-up including labour, wheel alignment etc).

  2. Wow - thanks very much for the generous offer!

Actually I think you're right though, I will get absolutely raped on freight for 4x wheels (I'm guessing at least $40 for each wheel return, probably more). So your suggestion of doing a day trip is probably a good one. I'll get in touch with them and see if they think it's feasible.

    Cheers!

  3. Hey,

I'd quite like to get my rims sent to Rimrite in Palmy to repair some minor curb damage (btw does anyone know roughly what this might cost per wheel)?

Anyway my problem is that I don't really have any other wheels to put on the car while mine are away being fixed. It's not crucial if I can't drive the car for a week or so.

Does anyone have any suggestions? :)

yeah.. not the tripometer.. just the clock...

so far.. 3x bug-eyes... including mine.. that i know have had clock problems..

its resistor 510 on the clock PCB that gets the dry joint.

Are you sure it was resistor 510? I can find a resistor 51.. But nothing nearly as high as 510. Where abouts approximately was it? Is it an SMD or regular mount resistor?
