  1. Well whatever it was, my clutch is now rooted :'(. Went to changed down from 4th to 3rd into a turn and there was a clanging sound and nothing on the clutch pedal at all, even with it all the way in its now stuck in the engaged position. Stubaru's theory was that it was a loose spring around the pressure plate which he said would eventually break free and jam my clutch - dead right. Cheers for the help guys, i guess my next question is who has an excedy heavy duty clutch kit for sale?
  2. Hey guys, i bought another suby finally. Its a 96 STi GC8 converted legacy. Just driving it around last night i was noticing a sound that appears to be coming from the clutch. It makes a sort of whirring noise occasionally on high boost but also whenever you downshift without rev matching. As the clutch engages there is a metallic sort of rattling/chattering but once the clutch is engaged the noise stops uuntill you hit boost pretty hard?? Just bought the car so not sure whats usual for it etc. Not phased if i have to replace a clutch but just wondering if you guys have any ideas about whats causing this? Is it likely to be doing damage? Thanks guys, Dan
  3. will try tightening belt today, cheers guys. Its is silent when stationary and when moving slowly it sounds more like a scratching sound, which changes to more of a squeal after about 40ks. Thanks again.
  4. hey guys, this started happening the other day. Went for a drive and coming back down the hill, whenever id steer a loud squealing sound (almost like a belt slipping) started coming from (or sounds like it came from) the right front wheel arch. When i got home i topped up the power steer fluid, the sound then went away for about a week but now its making noise again and power steering fluid is at the right level. The belt is tight and not slipping, any ideas what this could be? Any help would be appreciated cheers guys =)

  12. hey there, im new to this website but i am a scooby enthusiast that needs some help. i have a 97 gtb that has a damaged big end and blown head gasket. i am looking into replacing the current ej20tt motor with a single turbo wrx motor. is there anyone on here that has done a similar conversion to this as i need to know the following.. other than engine, loom, computer, air flow metre and exhaust is there any other parts or materials i will need? I will be replacing my engine with a 97 ej20t with clutch and flywheel attached (same year as the current one). will this bolt right up to my current 97 gear box, and will i have to alter my drive shaft in any way? any help with this would be greatly appreciated as i am on the bus until i get this thing finished.
