Been trying to figure out how to post an image but it says my pics are to big (larger than 10 bytes?).

Copy the link from photobucket that gives it "img" tags rather than "url". Second line from memory?

All I did was copy your link and changed url to img. (But I'm never sure if I have special Mod powers for things like this though?)

I've taken the flywheel off but can put it back on, I wedged in a pry bar between flywheel bolts and where gearbox bolts up and tried to turn crank bolt but my pry bar bent to ****!

They're often loctite'd on. So may need to hit it with some heat to break the seal. Plus they're done up to ~150Nm. Quite often takes a big "extension"on the powerbar to crack the nut if you can't get a grunty rattlegun on it.

But either way, I've always found it easier to leave the flywheel on it as it helps heaps to stop the crank rotating.

When will you be out with the BC at meets again koom, im sure that if you turned up we would think your a newbie member that just turned up for the first time

I was hoping to send it off for tuning and cert soon but had to buy a set of tyres for the bmwfirst. So waiting for another wee while to pay that bill first :(

I felt like a newbie to the group at the dyno day haha! I want to have it ready in time for the Sep trackday. So that's my current deadline.

Your cold air intake box did the trick. But after a year I got tired of the noise.

My Subaru's have always had really loud exhausts that balanced the extra sound from the pod filter, so I never knew this one was going to be soo loud! Although now I think about it, all my Subaru's have had the air box removed so I don't know what they sound like without a filter :)

I'm the opposite, without it, I miss the noise..

  5. Have driven cars with solid gearbox mounts (just welded plates across the standard ones to make the rubber bit redundant). It makes the whole car quite whiny and I wouldn't want it as a daily. Not sure if the engine mounts would be as bad? There's a few options around for stiffer mounts which may be better?

  6. If you\'re used to driving a car with a cable operated shifter then it may just feel like it\'s shaking a lot as it\'s a mechanical shifter linkage?

If it\'s excessive movement, it could be a broken mount somewhere. It\'s usually the older models that break the engine mounts so I\'d guess that it\'s most likely just the normal vibration through the shifter linkage.

  7. I think the chip I originally had was one of theirs. One of the best bang for the buck mods I\'ve ever had on the RS. Upped the boost to 14 - 15 psi (depending on how accurate the boost gauge is... and also the upper limit of the grey injectors). Think rev limit stayed the same. Also cured a surge at cruise (most likely a dying O2 sensor) problem that I had and it never re-occurred. Car had a vf10, pod filter and 3" exhaust.

I had that on the car until I replaced the turbo with a td05 and later broke a conrod (freeboosting and really high sustained rpm) so I put a possumlink in when I built it a new engine.

They stole those pics from Corky Bell\'s turbo book just like I did :)

Good book that but I can\'t find where I\'ve hidden it. May have gone with an old flatmate.

So if he only took the injector out then put it back in and now has issues, were all rings there? 3 if I recall

It\'s really easy (common) to pinch one of the o-rings on re-installation and then they leak. They can be a pain in the ass at times and these days I always do a check for leaks out of the underside after doing anything with the injectors.

Cleaned it after 2500kms of driving through floods, the bottom half of the South Island including a few hundred kms of backcountry roads. Rear wheel drive and 18" alloys isn\'t the best setup for driving through rocky alpine fords.

Now my driveway is covered in bits of Mt Aspiring National Park and Hollyford Valley Gravel ;D

you do know it is illegal to remove anything from a national park :)

I\'ll sweep it up and post it off to the local DOC office asap!
