  1. Kia Ora to one and all!

Very shortly in the next few weeks i should have finally acquired my new engine for my engine transplant to replace my old worn ej20g (Sob...), a nice one i picked up for cheap and it is a wrx v3 engine. Reasonable condition too i must add!!

Anyways i was wondering what else would i require to successfully transplant the new wrx v3 engine into the old girl, Legacy gt bf5?

I am a first car owner and want to do this engine rebuild and re modify some justice, i know i would need a new ecu, i think the new engine comes with a ecu but i am not sure but asides from that and the wiring loom, does anyone know what other things i might need or require?

I suspect it might need another fuel pump out of a wrx v3.

For now i am just trying to figure out what else i may need to make this engine transplant work, to finally get my car going and road legal again after two years of poor neglect.

Any help or advice i would greatly appreciate!

  2. Kia Ora Whanau, i have a bf5 with standard motor with a few mods on and i was thinking off replacing the motor, it has roughly about fifty to sixty thousand k's left after i service her of course.

I heard a sti version3 would work with minimal to nil implications i.e engine mounts and would just need a v3 sti ecu.

Does anyone have any ideas as i would likely prefer to end my project on my car before my earthday ( Birthday ) in plain talk which is august, i know its ages away but was just wondering and thought i should plan ahead.

Or what could do to the stock motor, which i believe if i am correct is a EJ20G, i heard it is essentially the same engine in early versions of the WRX.

Money wise im roughly looking at budget between $3000 - $3500

Any ideas will be considered and will finalise my project ideas by febuary.

JAH Bless for your ideas, have a lovely day!

  3. My Rasta mobile aka my bf5 was broken into last night by some foolish and clown like idiot, who would break into a car and not take anything. All this teenage i assume clown had done was pop my igntion barrel and that was it, no headdeck taken, no wallet taken and none of my ganja taken as well. I assume this Torbay teenage idiot was raised by hill billies and i assume once again that this idiot would have chop shopped my car, but luckly the Rasta mobile is ok and should have it off the road and safely in my driveway by tonight!

Be aware bf5bc5 drivers and owners, there are teenage, incest hillbillies around in northshore and they will shorely too like in my instance pop ur igntion barrel just to be foolish, to have a look what a cars interior is like since they dont have couches!!!!

If it werent for this instance, i was going to spend my pay on a wastegate or better intercooler, or a remapped ecu but instead i have to fix this teenage clown's mess!!

  4. Hey bro, sorry to hear that man sounds like those little bastards are quite foolish and dont know how to rob a car properly by the sounds of it. I live in the southern end of torbay heading towards browns bay and so far i have not heard or seen any stolencars around, but i will tell you what. The guys that probaly broke into your car would have been around 16 to 18, these idiotic teens are obviously too dumb to rob your car and thought they would just leave your missusses stuff behind. Who does that seriously dont you think? anyways i will keep an eye out for anything suspect down my end and will alert my bro's up the road to do the same. Thanks for sharing mate

  5. Hey if anyone is missing their car in the bays area of North Shore Auckland, i will gladly help you out and will keep my eyes wide open to help you relocate it again, i know i would be sad to see my own car missing and so from the bottom of my heart, i will always help another person in need. So for now, keep those subies alarmed, locked or barred and please if you can afford it, get that bloody boxer alarmed. It is sad to hear if one of these beautiful beasts missing in action. Please message me if you live in my area and will keep you up to date if i see or witness anything. Cheers all.
