  1. churr people

thinkn ahead and sortn out which ecu im gonna use and decided that im gonna pull out the chipped one and chuck in the possum link at some stage.....

    heres my issue....

what would be the best way to go with this regarding serial links and hand controllers,

ive been offered a hand controller from a member on here,

but then a serial link has just come up and its cheap as so im thinking maybe thats a better way to go as my possum is laptop tunable....

not sure which is the best way to go,

    your thoughts.. 8)

ever had the flywheel off?? Does it quieter down with the clutch in?

na the box hasnt been splitt from the motor in over 2 years.........

when the clutch is in i can feel it, pushing/tapping against it.

im starting to think that maybe a bolt or tool or something has fallen thru the hole at the top of the gbox housing

and is jammed somehow at the bottom and the flywheel is touching it ??? ???

yep i was thinking the same, sounded like dry heads &/or lots of sticking lifters

I like the wastegate though 8)

if this is the case whats the best way to resolve/fix this ???

and yea i like that wastegate too...

seems a waste tho as its brand new and now another issue comes up ::)

hasnt even had any boost in it.....yet

what heads are on it? its not the hydraulic lifters is it? no oil getting to them perhaps?

    sounds like a fricken diesel

still has factory heads which would be whatever came out on the v1 gf8's....

and yea hard sounds like a diesel tractor unfortunatly

  5. set my fuel pressure again this morning with the vac hose off.......

set to as close to 43.5.

when i turned car off and hooked up the vac line and started it up again the pressure drops to around 30-35.

my question is , is this normal??

when i gave it gas the psi increased and then went down like (i assume) a rising rate fpr should......

running a tomei fpr with an mechanical gauge (not liquid filled) ??? ???

  6. went out and started it again and now im thinking it could be something other than the BeB.....

when the cars running you can feel a tapping on the clutch pedal....

when i say tapping i mean it feels like theres some one tapping it from the other side....

and if i give it some gas the noise and the tapping feeling on the clutch pedal increases.....

has anyone come across this before?? is that what happens when the BeB goes??

im starting to think that maybe a tool or nut/bolt may have fallen down the hole where you can see the fly wheel???

    but still unsure ??? ???

  7. i didnt think it would be my big end but since,

the car has been sitting for a year and a half and hadnt had a oil change i thought maybe its that...

but i have never heard this sound nor the sound of a big end on anyone elses going im not too sure what it is..

sound seems to be coming to be coming from the block around the crank ???

im still going thru you tube to try find something similar

  8. so i finally got my car up an running yesterday took it to get exhaust welded up gassed her up and she seemed to be running sweet as....

never thrashed her went easy when i was driving as she been parked up awhile

was running low on gas so i parked it up till this morning.....

anyway chucked in some 98 and started her up and F#@ ME sideways.....

    someones knocking on the door!!!!

can some one confirm what this is....i think i already know what the answer is 8) 8) 8)

dont get light cable you need welding cable which has double sheath mint protection or 30mm2 cable minimum.

heavier cable prevents voltage drop and it costs more than $10. if you dont you will wreck your starter no if its when...also lights dim etc

keep it as short as you can and run the earth to the car body.

keep your positive feed away from any speaker cabling to limit fuzz/static noise.

run it in the car under the carpet better protection.

    you will need:

    heatshrink/tape

    5m of 0-35mm2 cable

    battery box

    cable ties

    battery terminals x2

    cable lugs x4

something to mount the box with

$170 off trade me or cheaper off me...

so how much if we get thru you ???

yes i know the v3 heads bolt on, i cant find any and im getting close to needed the heads, how hard is it? can i run current loom is the main thing i guess? i know i need a new manifold etc, but can i mix and match to make it work?

    /quote]

Not if you want a IACV that works.... (maby if you got welding lol then yeah spoze you could make it work). Otherwise not really man unles as stated you dont mind no IACV and are running a link ecu.

there is a way to keep the iacv with the v5 mani...

seen the iacv modded to one on the kuzns wrx....using a v1-2 loom and the v5

mani. will try get a pic up of it

  11. the earth wire thats bolted on the end of the manifold by the fuel rails,

does that HAVE to be ground there or on the manifold or can it be moved to another location????

on the heads or block somewhere maybe ??? ???

well, i know with the early ones (v1 v2) the rear window had a separate reservoir in the rear quarter panel in the boot.

You could try getting on of them, and then routing the pipe work and wiring to the other end of the car.

chur i like the sound of that ill have a look tomorrow.

    chur 8)

  13. has anybody done this while still keeping the res in the car somewhere ???

thinking of doing this to clean up the engine bay abit....

does anyone have any pics if they have done this mod??

i want to try moving mine instead of just removing the whole system, dunno where to yet either :D :D

This is something that I was pondering aswell.

I feel that they apply the term boy racer to anyone who fits under b]any of[/b] the following catagories when driving,

    A) Is a male under the age of 25 but can go up to 29.

    B) Anyone whos driving a car that has any modifications on it even a dihatsu mira with a cannon muffler

    C) Anyone who drives a car that is slightly sporty in anyway.

I hate how people think im a boy racer because I drive modified cars or even the missus sti which is almost stock.

I often find its the soccer mums(again I realise the irony of myself labelling them) who dont pay attention when merging etc to be the most annoying thing on the road.

    LOLtastic

    29pffffffffffft

    embrace it

anyone on this forum is a boyracer by the Media's standards

    suck it up cupcake

jokers right, oh i felt dirty even typing that haha

    hahaha :D
