  1. Can definatly get them to fit..

    I have 18x9" +30 on my ver 9 Sti.

Fronts fit up without a problem, just did a slight roll on the guards.. But the rear took a bit more to get to fit, had to roll and pull the guards a bit, and I run a fair bit of camber as well, to get them to tuck under.. Not a ridiculus amount, but definatly more than normal haha..

But in saying that. Mine are a +30 offset, so the two options you have listed about will sit a little further in than mine, so shouldnt be as tight in the guards..

    Hope this helps ;D

  2. Hey

Im just about ready to start my car for the first time in about 4 months..

It has a new turbo installed, and i want to crank over the engine for a while to get the oil circulating and through the turbo before I actually start the car..

Whats the best way to do this?

I dont want to flood the motor, so would the best way to be to pull out the fuel pump fuse? Or is there better ways?

    Thanks in advance. :D

    flipped manifold?

    blocked PCV?

    and block breather open?

anyway is that an added sensor ?

if anything it looks like a manfold air temp sensor (possibly an added M.A.T sensor)

Haha.. Its a work in progress at the moment.. Not running yet.

    Na, sensor is standard.

So it looks like a air temp sensor?

So whats the air temp sensor in the air flow meter for? Or do they run two?

    Cheers

  4. Ah yea sweet.. Um well he just said to leave the afm in and use that one, but kinda dont want to run it, rather get a new one and run it in the manifold.

Where do you get them from? I have the intake manifold out at the momnet, so getting one tapped into that is no problem, although I am no longer running a pcv valve, so if I could find one to screw into that, would be even better haha

    Cheers

  5. Hey guys

Im about to get my car (Version 9 Sti, for those who dont know it) tuned for the new turbo etc, and have a couple of questions..

I am going to get Gary Capper to do the tuning, and he uses a rom on the factory ecu. Now he said with this rom you dont need an air flow sensor.

But you need to keep it in the intake pipe, so he can use the air intake temp sensor on it..

Unless I can rig up a suitable air intake temp sensor somewhere else..

My question is, has anyone out there done something similar.. As I dont want to run the factory afm in the 4" intake pipe..

Can I run one in the intake manifold? Does it have to be anything specific?

    Cheers

  6. Hey

I have a Version 9 Sti. So here goes my attempt to answer your q's..

1 - Yes, mine has 2 o2 sensors. One right behind the turbo, and one at the other end like pictured.

2 - No the factory down pipe has 1 cat, and another small muffler (I think) in it.. Definatly 2 mufflers in it though, but one 1 is a cat i believe.

3 - Yes, looks to be in the exact right place

4 - Yep, if you get an exhaust for the right model, it should bolt straight up to the downpipe.

5 - Only thing i can see wrong with it straight away, is that it steps down to the factory size exhaust at the end, so if you get an aftermarket 3" exhaust, it will have to step down to factory size as well to bolt up.. But you could chop the flange off, and get a new 3" one welded on, bit of work, but not to hard to do.

    Cheers

  7. I have just brought a new alloy radiator for my Version 9 Sti.

Now my factory one had a radiator cap on the top of it, as well as the one on the breather tank, and the new one doesnt, and i got the guy to check, and it was the only option for the GDB chassis.

Do I need it? Or can I run fine without it..

  8. I have BC Golds in my car as well..

They are a very, very good shock for the money.. They are made in the same factory as Apexi..

    I rate them very highly..

Give a nice comfortable ride around the street... And yet they can handle the track just as well...

Sweet will have a look next time a pull the headunit out. Wouldnt imagine that it would make too much of a difference tho as the reception was poor with the old (standard) unit.

Does anyone know if you can get boosters for them?

    Ah....

In that case, maybe not... But id still have a look anyway..

I sell boosters at work (Repco), you could give it a try, ive had mixed reviews on them, some say there great, and some say it didnt make to much difference, so i guess it depends on the car.

I could find out a price for you, if your interested..

    Cheers

  10. Im pretty sure they have an amplifier for the aerial.

And you need to track down the remote wire for it, and connect it to the aerial turn on wire, comming out the back of the head unit.

Very common thing to forget to hook up, when installing a new headunit.

Well, its like that in most cars with the aerial in the window. Not 100% sure about subarus, but worth a look..

    Cheers
