  1. could do, but they weigh 1kg+ each so i wanna get rid of them
  2. yeah i just wanted to remove the spacers cause the car is going to be lower soon and i want to try keep the lower arms at a half decent angle and bump steer adjusters are over $400! will be interesting to see how the spacer removal helps cornering. I'm just really hoping the wrx knuckle\universal will bolt straight in so i don't have to modify anything, i don't like "modifying" steering related things :-\
  3. ok so finally went shopping yesterday, repco was alot cheaper than subaru genuine(no surprises) so i now have new rack boots and nolethane rack bushes all mounted up, tie rod ends are being ordered in for me through repco and i have bought some 2nd hand u-bolts and a wrx steering universal off a guy on trade me so once i get those parts i will hopefully be able to get the car back together and back on the road!
  4. i didn't know where mine where till i replaced them in the foz (knew where they were on a "normal engine") it's a good small job to diy! easy to diagnose if you mess it up go platnums or similar (that way you don't have to replace them as often)
  5. do yuo mean twisted turbo? is there much gain from it?
  6. is there a model number on the head unit?
  7. but most amps have speaker (high level????) inputs so you don't need adapters (i have issues with adapters doing home audio at work so i'm sceptical of quality) note: i;ve never used these inputs on an amp..... it's just an idea
  8. don't take it to pit stop, they will make a crap job of re-bending it.... or at least te rapa pit stop did for me! get a new bend made up, or cut your factory muffler off and weld the new one on (if they same pipe size???)
  9. why the **** would you be watching twilight???? if you'd mentioned that when voting was on you would have lost my vote!!!! lol so what was the topic???? i forget???? some mod will clean my **** up no doubt! :-* wow stars are cool!!!!
  10. yup it does, pull it out and look..... if it's not there........ then you don't have them (in other words i have no idea). you could always just use speaker inputs on the amp????
  11. hence y i said to op'ers expectaitions cause i can't read either...... i have canadian club glasses on
  12. has the original question been answered to the op'ers expectations???? if so lock mr mod man\woman\person\interweb creature
  13. wingers??? (i will be going there in the near future) mitchel motorsport in te rapa did some work on my car, there work was high standard, could be pricey tho.
  14. i've just dropped the subframe and rack off my foz, it's easy as, just need a few axle stands and a jack. my engines resting on axle stands still (2 weeks later)
  15. gfb are club sponsor so contact them directly for price (if your a paid member) 8kw seems alot of increase for just pullies....... but i don't know much, try pming odie, he has at least 1 car with them on.
  16. white wheels on black car look good, just maybe not those wheels :-\ sorry i'm no good at photoshop..... wheres reuban when you need him??? being distractd by drivel no doubt!
  17. bro cruise round to my pad one day, the harness is in the car at the moment (cause it aint going anywhere) i can hook you up with one eye bolt that i aquired through a dodgy dealing i got my harness off trade me, just clips in and out, max 5 min job to install includeing pulling out my rear seat.
  18. 14km\l????? maybe downhill with a tail wind!!! my foz uses about the same amount of gas as my mrs 2002 impreza N\A. 10km\l avg
  19. ok so new developments (also posted in my looking for ubolts thread) found some parts i need\want to be fricking expensive and are gonna take excessive amounts of time to get. so new questions, *whats the difference between the whiteline hd steering rack kit and the nolethane steering rack mount kit? any advantages in the whiteline kit??? I'm pretty sure i can get the nolethane ones from repco fairly easily. *will get steering rack boots from repco, $16 each for subaru specific ones. *Subframe u bolts good idea??? *bump steer kit can wait, was only looking for intrest sake *Tie rod ends, any advantage in replacing these? the ones off my car still look sweet obviously a bit worn being 11 years old. oh and still waiting on that steering knuckle measurement optical
  20. thats he best advise! oh and could it be centre diff??? just throwing it out there
  21. spark plug leads, i had the same issue in summer, i only had the issue with my foot over 3\4 throttle, would miss badly, i changed plugs and didn't fix, changed leads and the issue went away, leads looked all good even after inspecting them when they were pulled out. thats just what my issue was, could be the same for you, may not be :-\
  22. same faults in a forester and wrx (being that the engines almost the same and chassis also almost the same) only fault i've had is leaking rocker cover, not a major tho. all in all my foz has been great. maybe depending on what you want it for, get one that is lowered already or budget to get some springs or v7 suspension for it as foresters have really spongy suspension!
  23. ok time for an update car is now sitting on axle stands with engine propped up on a jack as i have removed all the subframe and steering etc now i'm getting to an awkward place where i need to get the steering knuckle issue sorted, i now know what the issue will be (I'd never really had a look at the steering etc on my car) The steering knuckle will definatly need to be shorter or i will have to modify the knuckle\steering splines to get the forester one to fit. so does anyone have a gc8 steering knuckle they could measure for me so i can figure out if it will work??? here are some pics of whats been done so far New rack as i got it foz steering knuckle Old rack and new rack (new rack with no boots or ties rods) code sticker on the new rack (supposidly from a 555 wrx ra, 2.5 turns lock to lock not 1.5 as the seller described it to me :'()
  24. that would be awesome! maybe hire a club transporter to get cars home that break too?
