Having reread above yes in the past I have used 205/55x16 and they looked fine. Have also used 205/65x16 - doesn't look so good.

I have 225/40 (I think) x16. They look no different to 205/50x16 in the wheel arch. Look just fine

It will be pocket change to enter this; compared to buying wheels and tyres ...
Al will show you which way to point the car.
Autocrosses are good - you only have to point the car to the front 😊

My uppipe flexi has blown. Any advice on the merits of replacing with one of these exhaust manifolds from Redline http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/other/auction-1240277436.htm or getting the flexi replaced? I like the idea of larger diameter uppipe but is it useful?

I got a set of MCA X-R reds, height and damper adjustable recently after a recommendation from Adrian, a Nissan guy. The MCA guys were super helpful and provided a setup for what i wanted, which was street sprints and occasional gravel sprints. I got it corner weighted and really like the feel.

Replaced the 6" rear splits with 6x9 3-way. It's a mission and the speakers are not 'fully-aligned' with anything, anywhere, or even themselves. They're on seriously wrong angles Oh well, it's my car and no one else will care

Hi ICE Guys
I need to remove the rear parcel shelf so I can mount some 6x9s, and am having some trouble. I've removed rear seat, removed side plastic trim that seatbelts go through, clicked up the little plastic clips that hold the parcel shelf to the metal tray. But the parcel shelf still refuses to pull out, it's like it's bonded to the rear window. What can I do next?

When we transplanted the V4 sti motor into the V4 wrx there was no air temp sensor wiring, so wired it in remedially. The wire just wasn't there, in the loom, all the way to the ecu
Also no wiring for boot light. Would be nice but dont care enough to put one in.

That sucks. You've put so much work into that car

Does the weather shield on a gc8 do anything? Ie does it keep wind or rain out?
Have got one on passengers side and none on drivers side. Wondering whether to take one off or put one on :-)

I remember a few years ago talking to my now ex father in law about this sort thing (organized events for 'boy racer' types). The problem he said is they never wanted to follow the rules, or their cars were never at a decent (or legal) standard. They just wanted to do what ever they wanted.
Yeah, that's exactly it
-
We've invited 'boy racers' to club events before and been
a) deafened by the silence of the 99% not turning up and
b) the 1 or 2 that turn up thinking they hav sum skilz, show their skills are not even average, and never turn up again to improve

Yes it is. Works fine but a larger rim would no doubt give firmer cornering
